Morning Glories 2010 #19

Mesilla Park, NM

Helena, those Black King flowers seem to be getting darker the more they bloom.

Jackie and Helena those Rosita flowers are really pretty in person. Once you see the youjiro leaves, you dont' for get them.

Thanks Becky, I'm happy to be growing some mgs again also.

Bluespiral, yes that dusky gene is appearing quite a bit and it makes that muted combination just plain ole nice, it is really a strong gene in the Black King, that one has a gold mine of dusky genes..

Here is a white purpurea that I photographed today at a friends home, she and I had to work at the gallery today and I took photos of some of the mgs in her yard. I swear that the center of this was yellow and the flower itself was an off white yellowish tint.

Sylvia's flower 5, I did put some tape on the two flowers it had and Sylvia is going to try to collect the seeds for me.. I may have to go back and put some mesh baggies on the pods.

I need ID on this one, I think it is a white Moon flower, but I've not grown any of the white moonflowers before, so I need to see if this is correct. She said she planted one seed earlier in the year and it is full of buds now. Sylvia gave me cutting which I have in water, does anyone know if the moonvines root in water or if the cuttings root at all? I only have photos of the buds and leaves.

Photo 2 a seedpod forming, it is pretty big, my finger is in the photo for size purposes. It looks like the pod is not finished forming either. She did not remember what color the seeds were, and she thinks the flowers were open during the daytime.. she may have gotten up early and they were still open from the night before, so that did not give me a clue.

A, the seed pod looks like a white moonflower seed pod to me. It makes
a huge seed pod as I recall. Your small pink vine looks like something similar to the Sun Smiles series, at least to me. Here's my Sun Smile Pink

Becky, thanks. That's my vine from last yr. I didn't realize it might be a cross.
It was amazing and bloomed every day with more blooms than any of my other vines.

Hi Jackie, it does look like a sunsmiles that is what it reminded me of at first, but it is not, the growth on it is different and the leaves are of a tight kikyo, very strange, also, the leaves are all green, very firm and small not growing bush like, maybe it will grow some more now that I brought it indoors. I'll post another photo.

Helena, you have a great show there, I miss having blooms like that.. Thank you for the comments and it felt great to be around a mg garden.

Here is a photo showing the leaves of the dwarf plant.

oops, I forgot to ask, do you think that moonvine cutting will root, I have in a clear flower vase with water, I may try the blue glass... Thanks for IDing it..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

A, I hope I'm right on the moonflower pod.
I do recall that it looked very much like your pic. The seeds are large and white.
If the growth on the cutting is soft, it will probably root.
Change the rooting water every few days to keep it fresh.

Helena, love your blooms. Black King is very impressive. I love
Rosita, special because of her gorgeous color.
I didn't know LYK could be a light color.

Becky's Mauve Splash threw out this different bloom yesterday.

Helen - your photos are always such a treat - thank you. Love that Black King - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=8094450

Dany, your black nil floats over its space like one of those gigantic, dark thunder clouds - impressive - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=8095934

Gourd, your petite, pink little one makes Dany's thundercloud all the more impressive - what a pair those two would make in a garden - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=8094622

Thank you, All, for sharing

I love the beautiful blooms posted today they are all so wonderful!

Mesilla Park, NM

In Dany's photo it sure looks like the flower is quite large, very beautiful, could be Black Knight...

I love both of those Fuji no monets... I'm hoping to get this one going again. I do have photos from last years, but, none of my seeds came out true from the first grow out.

The Lavender sazanami is really different than the light saz also.

Anyone here have Silver Wolf they want to trade? Dmail me if you have some to trade please.
