OH.. Jackie.. lovely pictures... that Milky way is the scorge here.. I jst mostly grew out volunteers this year.. looking to see what the natural crosses of the years past had given me... of all the beautiful exotics i've grown....Milk Way is the first to sprout out in the spring.. and gets the start up the trellises.. shading out the later arrivals.. but some have made it .... even in planters where it wasn't. it's the one to sprout out there.. but there's some nice combinations .
Gordon, thanks, love your purps. The sail looks great.
HA HA Well.. thanks.. the sail last night was a circus... no hurricane.. bit it was all blowing so .. stanging next to it was a chore... it and everything around it was moving... i didn't know if I was falling or which way was up... it was like being on a boat... but a few things didn't mind it.. here's a few more shots with the milky way
gordon, how are you and where have you been?
Well..Hi LILI.. post some here... I try and watch all of the folks who know what they are doing.. I don't pretend to be of much help here.. and I was a bit personaly set back aranging my defeat so well... in letting these just grow out..I thought of it as an experimint.. and it was a learning experience.. to have mostly justthe ones that sprouted first survive.. not thinking that they were all to be of the same type.. but now i'm getting some others working.. so I feel better about it.. I've been about the brugmansia folks some more ..and keeping my own garden... with out the paid help this year... so I'm ring and cleaning more.... never will I just let the volunteers have their way with me.. I'm going to be choosing.. for beauty..and sprouting out everything that grows...
rh3708, love your shredded MG's. I have the solid purple ones.
gordon, I haven't been over to the brug much this year. I was sad to loose some of my brug due to a tough winter last year. I did manage to save a few, plus some of the ones you sent me. They are all very slow growing this year. I do have some buds though. Waiting for them to bloom. Also, I love that sail you did for the MGs very cool! How is NY weathering the storm. Is it heading your way? It's too nice here to be inside to watch the weather channel.
Thanks yall
Gordon - I do love your MG sail! Looks like the birdnest on top, too? Pretty cool!!! Do you grow any I. nils anymore or did all the I. purpureas take over your containers?
Robbie - Some very lovely blooms! Keep em coming!
Helena - You have such luck having so many growing and blooming this year! Mine are about done because of the rust. We are in the rainy season here now. And then Fall. Will be starting some soon to grow indoors on the window shelf.
Jackie - Love your blooms! You sure grew so really unique ones this year! Those Sazanami's especially the weird one was superb! :-)
Not much in the way of MGs doing well here right now. Most are looking pretty ragged. A couple of blooms, but not much else. Luckily, most of my other garden plants are doing very well to make up for it! Next year it will be I. purpureas and I. tricolors the second half of the season. And the I. indica does fine for the entire growing season! My arbors still have lots of blooms, though the leaves are fading out from all this rain! :-)
Dark Heavenly Blue on arbor.
Love your pink and white bloom Helena.

Nice blooms yall love them all
Thanks Becky the porch rail is the only place i can grow most of them so they don't get whacked by the weed eater.
He wouldn't dare get in the flower beds so that's the safest place for them.
