I know this is an awful shot but I have to shoot it through the window and screen. This male Orchard Oriole has been coming everyday all summer for the grape jelly right outside my computer window. Haven't seen him for the past few days so he may have moved on. I just loved the way he spread his little legs out on the bowl!!

Very nice pictures everyone, I'm so far behind having been away for the weekend ... I'm back home-- here is to share a pic. of a Great Blue Heron sun bathing-pose last Thursday before we went to Maryland for a family reunion.

I was pleased to have found my various woodpeckers are still here, such as the Downies, Redheaded, and Redbellied.

Cute birds everyone. Lily, glad you're back. Glad to hear your birds are still there.

I found these California Quail just relaxing on top of a fence as we were on our afternoon walk. They all seem pretty young and sat there long enough for me to run home for my camera.

Here's one of my remaining four juvie Orioles from a few days ago.

You guys have been busy, me too, but not with the camera. I got out today and snapped a few pics, Actually, I sat in my laundry room with the door open.

I had a juvy Ruby-throated hummer feeding today.

Sometimes it would just sit and take it easy.

Saw this Chipping Sparrow on the ground feeding.

A little later in the afternoon a male Goldfinch showed up.

I thought this male House Finch was one ugly bird.

My last one is of a male House Sparrow at the bird bath. I had a lot of "bathers" today.

One of my many Purple finches. I don't see the males much.

The Downy keep showing up everyday now.

Chickadee on thistle feeder. They do eat the seeds, so does the Purple finches and Downy woodpecker.

On a recent trip to Monterey, Ca. I spotted several Brandt's Cormorants. (ID by resin) This is a lifer.

I am still in awe of your magnificent parrots, Margaret. To think over there they are as commonplace as our Blue Jays is just unimaginable. Here is a Hawk that flew over a short time ago on a very dark and dreary day.

I didn't put out any seed today b/c I'm sick of the stinkin' doves and they are stinky -- poopin' everywhere. I have dove deterrent feeders but about 50 doves hang around to get anything that falls and to try relentlessly to get food from feeders. If anyone knows a way to feed the birds w/o attracting doves I'd love to hear it.

A long shot of this Northern Flicker who spent a long time hunting for bugs in the backyard the other day.

Enjoying everyones photos.....I was able to get out and go walking the other day and found a Eastern Phoebe. I have seen several around the last couple of weeks which is really nice!

It even had a young one to feed...wish I could have this in focus...lol!
