Am I the oldest member of Dave's Garden, and how many of you are over 50?

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

I am 65 years of age as of the middle of last July. I am beginning to wonder how many other senior citizens are members here. Let me know if I happen to have the distinction of being the oldest member. Gee, that looks strange cause I don't feel old at all.

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

I am older than you, but I don't consider myself a "senior citizen". (At least til I hit 80 or more!) Doris

Middle, TN(Zone 6b)

To win the distinctive honor of oldest member, you need to tell us how old you are djm. I don't know about you but I am mighty proud of each and every one of my years and am
very thankful to have been able to stay around this long. Maybe with a little good luck and if the Good Lord is willing I will have a lot more years to enjoy Dave's Garden and my own garden.

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

Gee, we are very proud to be here...Even if we are approching the 64th year of our life...In our brain we are still in our 30's....Body that is, another thing.....Glad Elna, you have met the no. 65...That will come soon to us...We seniors must stick together you know......the more help we get the better...Love Dave's Garden....and all of these young brains, let us learn new things, in our mature years.. Never too old to learn.... And others can learn from us too....hehehe....love it....!!!

Okay, I'm not over 50 but I thought I'd sneak in for just a moment. You guys might like today's "Internet Tourbus" newsletter. Over 75% of their readership is age 45 or older, and today's edition is called "Seniors in Cyberspace": http://listserv.aol.com/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0110A&L=tourbus&P=R280&m=150

WOo!! I've got a secret I've got a secret! :)

Just an idea - you 'older folks' are what I'm thinking of as "bigs" in my "big little" post. Hop on over, and volunteer to mentor a "lil one" like myself. :)

I'm 50 - I always wanted to be 50 cause I am short and people always thought of me as younger because of my height, so reaching 50 to me was a milestone - Just sent for my AARP card yesterday as a matter of fact! Hope to don another 50 too, butttttttttttt!

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Age becomes me.....I'm 52.

Born in '38. Don't much care how old I am since the Senior Center started serving me a cheap lunch when I was 55 years old.

My favorite senior story: I was at a 102nd birthday party for an eskimo woman and the media ask her the secret of living so long. She said something and the natives all laughed and the translator gave some canned response about seal and salmon. I asked a friend why everyone laughed. My friend said that when asked the secret of living so long the old lady had responded in her native language "My people had no calander."

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

I am headed that direction but 65 doesn't look old to me. I say that is middle age. I am 56 years old and the inside feels younger than the outside. :)

I'm in late 40s - sorry, won't say exactly - but I got carded twice this summer! I found it quite unbelieveable! While I don't look my age, I don't look THAT young! I was born when there were still 48 states. I'm even going for my fitness instructor certification next month, so wish me luck.

Grand Prairie, TX

Dinu, the more you get to know CoCo...she doesnt even count birthdays anymore. I'm surprised she even kept up with how many years she has been on this earth!
What I want to know is...who is the youngest? I'm 22, a beginner gardener. I definitely didn't inhearit a green thumb from CoCo. The only live plants I had...died. to quickly. My green thumb is...well only half green for now but getting greener!

So.App.Mtns., United States(Zone 5b)

My best friend, Bud, delights in telling people he has known me, "...since God was little..." Now, I know we are both old, but NOT THAT OLD!!!

I delight in being 61 this year.... and feel like 40 on most days. My friends stand amazed at what I still do (physical labor), but I figure if I stop doing it, I will never again be able to do it, LOL. So, I put up with the occasional 'tired bones and muscles'.... and get on with enjoying my life, and my garden. I'm not getting old.... I am getting better!

Spring Hill, FL(Zone 9a)

I was born 5 days before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. The first president I remenber is the one I still think was the best of our generation...Harry S. Truman.
