DAILY PICS VOL. 339

PERTH, Australia

LOL, Granny. I think it was: "Put that fish down NOW, you silly woman. You're not going to get the ospreys to come any closer by waving that around"

Good answer Margaret! LOL

Elphaba, your Night Hawk photo is great. That Brown Pelican and the last one with the Stilts and Ibis are wonderful. Glad you had such a great birding day. Also happy to hear you had a visit from a hummer.

Adel, great picture of the quail.

GP, love your jay pictures, that peanut looks so big for the bird. That photo of the doves is hillarious.

Burn, sorry about your loss of photos. We all have those days. Great pictures, especially of that dove.

Burd, wonderful pictures. I didn't know the RW Blackbird juvies had that color on their faces. Now I'll be able to identify mine better-thanks for showing yours. Love that grackle shot!

Margaret, your Honeyeater photos are so pretty. I just love their colors.

I'm getting more and more young juvies here each day. Guess the parents saw the welcome mat out. Here's a Scrub Jay that's pretty young.

This young Oriole was caught testing the fruit in our neighbor's blackberry bush.

I saw all the great pics, but felt the need to take a moment to express my sympathies to SusanLouise on the loss of her Goldfinch buddy.

AND ditto to what Elphaba said "You should feel good that he lived a long life and didn't fly into a window or get eaten by a cat." I wonder how many baby GOFIN he was papa too? Yep, SusanLouise, he was blessed because you were there - you should feel good about that..

I swear there is nothing cuter...at least at the moment...then those California Quail!!

My new camera is on the delivery truck! It's just another inexpensive point and shoot b/c I have no money for toys, but it has way more MP and way more zoom than my present camera and it has exposure compensation which I'm silly excited about!

This little camera has been good to me though. It's having trouble focusing now, kind of like me! Anyway, here is a Pine Warbler.

A new camera is always fun...YAY!!! What are ya getting?!

Totally agree with Nanny about the quail. They are amazing.

LOL GP on the attractive cardinal. I had one of those this morning and I was so excited to finally know that it was a boy! -- well, becoming a man.

2nd pine warbler shot.

The camera is an upgrade of what I have. The upgrade is a Kodak Easyshare Z981. (I currently have the Z740.) There was a fuji with the same MP but a little less zoom that was $30 cheaper, but this Kodak has been so good to me that I thought it was worth $30 to get one I trust.

Elphaba, congratulations ahead of time. I know you're excited about this new "toy". Your warbler is little adorable!

I'm going out today so will start the new thread a little early.

Please go to http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1122530/ to post your pictures.
