Dave an idea for the trading boards

Dave I was wondering if there is a way to get people to post Wanted or Have in the trade boards? It makes it much easier when searching them that way.
Just a thought for the future.

Indeed it does. A lot of people load up the trading forums just looking for someone to advertise a new offering (or request).

In fact, our trading primer advocates this practice.

I can't think of a better way to increase posts in the trading forums than to simply continue to encourage our members to get out there and post their wishes and offerings.

Tamlamb, I think I get what your saying... Perhaps a 'default' setting for the name of the thread (under Seed Trading and Plant Trading) which includes the words "WANT" or "HAVE", (choose one)? This would avoid seeing, for example, "echinacea pallida" as a thread name, no clue whether the poster "wants" or "has" the item.

Dave, if this were feasible, would it be possible to also "Sort" the thread subjects into "WANT" and "HAVE" results?

If all of this is impractical, I would say Dave's suggestion to encourage members to post their "wishes and offering" (much nicer than WANTS) would be fine, with perhaps more specific thread titles, i.e. HAVE Echinacea pallida, rather than "stuff to trade"...

Just a thought.... John

Ah ha, yes, John, you are probably right. I misunderstood the request.

I'll give this a little thought. Thanks for helping me understand this (sometimes my brain gets in the way of my mind). hehehe
