North Central Texas Fall Roundup Trade Thread.

Dallas, TX

Well I thank you Josephine and I will try and bring you some manure, coffee grounds, eggs or something else along those lines :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Any one of those would be great, and please don't hesitate to ask for anything you want that is available.

Keep checking my list I have added
5 Cowpen Daisy in quarts http://wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=VEEN

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

MSGF,
the dragon fruit is yours.

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Linda, I think you got the wrong name for the mexican mint marigold and the bolivian jew. Looks like you meant to ask Anna.

Plano, TX

ok--why is it that i keep mixing up the plants and who is offering them!!

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Could it be drug related? lol

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I keep a little pad of paper next to my computer and write down who's giving me what when I ask for it.

Arlington, TX

I am going to be there. All I have is small starts of prairie phlox, 10 or so. Not really looking for anything but hoping to find something interesting and unclaimed.
Cheryll

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi C ;) I have a small plant or seeds or both. Which ever you'd prefer is ok with me. I would love a start of your phlox.

Arlington, TX

How about 2 starts for a couple seeds and a small plant?
C

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Cheryl I am glad you decided to come, Shall I make a link to your post?

Arlington, TX

Nah, I am not really trading just bringing a few small plants.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey Linda, the Bolivian Jew and mint marigold are yours

Dallas, TX

Good evening, I think one of you on another thread a few weeks ago was looking for some prickly pear cactus. If you're still looking for some let me know - I found two babies in my garden when I was weeding that I've potted up.

I'll update my list with all the trades I've made at some point tomorrow :)

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

Sounds like a deal Cheryll. I'll put 'em down for you :)

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, maybe you should have a link anyway, that way you can keep track over there.

Arlington, TX

Ok, Link me up.
It's a deal.

8 small but rooted starts of phlox pilosa
1 nicely rooted zexmenia
1 lyre leaf sage

Cheryl, what was it you were asking about on another thread, and I said I had one? Do you remember? If you do, let me know and I'll bring it. I'm glad you're coming. :)

Hey, Christi, did you hear that? Now you know you need to come too.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

That is right Christi, what is this thing about coming only if you have plants to trade?

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

OK, I have started my haves list.

Grandview, TX(Zone 8a)

Ken, could I possibly get one bulb of Curcuma 'Emperor' and one bulb of Curcuma 'Panama Purple'?

Wichita Falls, TX

Okay, now I'm really getting that feeling of a kid in a candy store: Please, pleas can I have. . .

Kenboy -- Pink China Elephant Ear -- it is beautiful. And if nobody wants your red crape mrytle, they would look nice in my front yard to somehow arrange with the 5 white ones I "rooted in" last fall, that need moving badly.

Frostweed -- Cowpen Daisy please.

Newtonsthirdlaw -- Zexmania please.

Gosh I feel like a thief -- but a nice one!

Thanks for talking me into joining all of you in Arlington. This is gonna be fun!

Arlington, TX

The zexmenia is yours gretta.
C

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, Greta it is always a lot of fun. Cowpen for you coming right up.

Dallas, TX

Kenboy,

Could I have the Oranoco banana, please?

Is there anything in particular you're looking for?

Thanks,

MsGF (Kate)

Dallas, TX

Dennis,

I don't have very many, but I'll try to bring you a couple of Oxblood lily bulbs.

MsGF (Kate)

Dallas, TX

PlayNNthedirt,

I'm going to attempt to divide my Comfrey plant without killing it, if I manage that feat I'll pot some up for you.

MsGF (Kate)

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Kate, you are braver than me. I thinking of doing that with some guidance from the experts, but have chickened out.

One of my guests, Anita, is bringing the old fashioned orange daylilies( will dig on request), 5-6 spider lilies 'Tropical Giant' (bloom of the day Sept 12), Flame Anisacanthus and pipevine plant and seeds. She is interested in daylilies and gingers, but I think is happy to share the wealth!

Grapevine, TX(Zone 8a)

Kate, thanks for the offer of the lilies! I'm looking to expand a grouping that I already have, so please don't feel obligated to give me some of yours unless they are truly extras.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Kate, you can chop off the root in sections and the comfrey will grow from that.

Josephine, Arlington, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna, which kind of pipevine does you friend Anita have?
Josephine.

Dallas, TX

Dennis,

They were gifts to me and they need dividing; seeing as they are traditionally pass along plants I feel the need to share :)

Kate

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Speaking of the need to share.....
Flyboy in Florida was given seed from our friend Trois' stock of Pride of Barbados. He has graciously sent a lot of seed for me to share with you all. Trois loved that plant and wanted to share it. So put your orders in for a pkg, depending on who is interested, I will divide the wealth.

Caddo Mills, TX(Zone 8a)

Sheila,

Can I get some seeds please?

Tina

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Yes, Tina....adding you to the list.

Dallas, TX

Sheila, I'd like some seeds, please.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Got you down Kate.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Anna, I have some Cowpen Daisy seeds if you want them. Freshly collected, too! :)

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Anita email this to me about the pipevine
"It was in a flat of "butterfly garden plants" that I received when I went to a butterfly garden workshop at the discovery gardens in Dallas

Aristolochia fimbriata. Pipevine is a deciduous perennial groundcover from Argentina. The small brownish flowers resemble a Meershaum pipe in form. Plants prefer partial shade (3 or 4 hours of afternoon shade is best), and can be planted in hanging baskets or pots. Allow plants to dry out between watering and provide good drainage. It is a host plant for the Pipevine Swallowtail."

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Thanks Stephanie for the fresh seeds
Sheila, I will try Trois' stock of Pride of Barbados. I follow his thread and it seems there is something magical about them!
What would you guys like?
