You're right!!! I've been checking out the trade forum. I'm loving it -- so addictive. Can't wait to meet a lot of you face to face. Thanks for the encouragement.
Now I am determined to attempt to get a few plants rooted. Hope it works. FUN!
North Central Texas Fall Roundup October 10th
Greta.....Like Frostweed mentioned it doesn't have to be plants; it can be some small bags of potting soil, etc. Some even trade yard art, birdhouses, even recycled starbucks coffee grounds. But as a new gardener you will go home with way more than you expect to trade for trust us. We have traded amongst ourselves for years and are excited to have new people come to share with.
You said you live in WF but not weither it is town or country.
A few yrs ago we had a newbie that had no plants to trade. He mentioned that he lived, sorta in the country & had animals. I can't tell you how many of us got manure & compost tea from him. Now, if that ain't a good way to give back. LOL
It doesn't matter, just come & enjoy. Believe me, time will run out & you won't have talked to everyone!!!
DG RUs are the greatest!!!
:~)
I live in the country -- 2 whole acres. Sorry, no manure or compost. I just - this week - started my very first official compost pile. I have no plans to turn it. I like Kenboy's idea of going big and letting nature take care of it. Thus far mine is 4 x 12 x 4 high. I had lots of left over leaves gathered last fall that needed cleaning up -- bags were in bad shape. Also had son go around on riding lawn mower in the field to get some greens in there. I am so proud this finally got done -- by myself -- hubby out of town. I do feel accomplished. But, sorry, will not bring any of this.
I could bring lots of newly started Johnson grass. . . anyone interested. It is coming out of the garden this week.
:oP LOL, you can keep the J grass!
Hey guys, let us warm this up a bit, where are all those wonderful people that haven't signed up yet?
Hey, I found and am bringing a fellow member from my area, I see she has yet to sign up. . .Hint hint.
me (Karen) + my bff Vicki. Already have my door prize purchased, camera is ready :) Looking forward to seeing all of you again!
And thanks for getting a slow start on the happenings cause we can't leave home until 11am with 2+ hour drive ahead of us. So glad to make this one since the Love's Lookout begins at 9 am and would have to stay overnight down there!
Great, I am very happy that you can make it Karen. That is the reason we start later to give people time to get there.
Dh and I will both be there.
Great! it will be good to see you again Tina and husband.
Yaaay! Debnes + 6
Finally kid, I thought you had left us.
Yes my dear, wouldn't miss it!
It sneaks up early this year I see! I sure hope we have a good turnout!
I hope so too, but there is another swap going on the same day, so we will probably have less people, but that's O.K. I just hope the regulars and a few new people show up.
Well well ... I am just seeing this... I will be there.
Goodness Sylvia, I am glad you found it, looking forward to seeing you there.
Josephine.
Richard and I will be there.
I will be bringing paper plates, napkins, forks, spoons, knives. I have some cups but not many...
Now to think of trades - I have catnip for catzgalore :)
Thank you, Looking forward to seeing you again.
Because the TXRU is out at Nadine's we will now be coming to NCTFRU. Now I will need to see if there is anything left on people's haves list. We have lots of plants but do not want much in return, just want to meet everyone.
I still have plenty Ken so ask away, it will be good to see you too.
Josephine.
Ken,
are you bringing some brugs to trade this time?
Count me in.
Lori
O.K. Lori, good to see you here.
Josephine
Great Lori, you won't go home empty handed.
Hello (Sylvia) and (Lori), will you be putting up a plant trade list on the other thread?
Here is the link http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1120385/
Josephine.
I am coming too. I will bring soda and cups and a desert.
Cheryl
Cheryl this is good news, I am glad you will be with us.
I will have to see what I can come up with. I have been doing good to keep what I have Alive. This summer has been brutal.
I will bring a dessert of some sort.
Lori : )
I will bring a main dish.
Looks like two friends from my garden club are coming. They are sure to bring some extra plants too.
Hey, how did the food thread start? You guys have your priorities!
OoooOoo, food--where? Is there chocolate? LOL
Well, I figure if they want to talk about it that is great, I will gather it all together later.
At least the thread is keeping active that way!
That's right, it is all good.
Step away from the chocolate and nobody gets hurt.
Ken, have you posted your plant list yet?
Josephine.
NO, it's too long. Maggi is in Oregon for two weeks and I just have not had time.
Too long? I like the sound of that. :)
