Awwwww....Jake looks a lot like Phoebe did--And I recognize that "face" you are getting. Is Sugarbaby a new addition? Very cute!
Awwww, Bonnie...How precious :) SO adorable! Phoebe, you need to put Columbus on here. It was so funny when you posted your pics and one was the rabbits foot fern. Loved it lol!!! Sally, I know you have some good ones too. Picture perfect of yours with that A.V. I can see that one going on a calander if it hasn't already. Come on y'all...please share your precious babies with us

Oh, my goodness :) I bet Sugarbaby gives you lots of sugar too. LOL Aspen was weighing in at 5 lbs. and we call him our little sack of sugar. I think he has probably gained a little more like his Momma and Daddy (grin) and maybe closer to 6 lbs. Is she a Yorkie?
That's so funny she's using Jake for a pillow! She's so tiny!
Awesome pics, Phoebe. So very precious :) I remember you telling me you used her name for your screen name like I did Aspen.
Did not know you could housebreak rabbits. I do know they are very smart and soft...and cuddly..and LOL.

Adorable furbabies! It's funny that there are so many small dogs (me included) -- I wonder if there's a personality test here? They all look mischievous...
Mrsbonnie-- did you get both of your dogs at the same time? Or was the Sugarbaby introduced after Jake was already "ruling the roost". I am curious because we would like to get a second schnauzer in a year or so, but after going from 1 cat to four, we've learned that its a lot more complicated than having one (times four) in terms of behavior. I don't know if it's the same with dogs. I hope not.
Phoebe looks like a real heartbreaker. Does she get along with Columbus? My little guy would love her -- he's had a huge crush on the little girl poodle on the corner for a while now. Ever since they met, whenever we take him for a walk, we "have to" run to the corner where she lives After putting on that little display of macho behavior, he's quite happy to walk like a semi-civilized dog.
Aspen is such a handsome boy -- how DO you keep him looking so great ???My guy is SUCH a slob -- he just went to the groomer yesterday, and he's already managed to cover himself in wet leaves, grass clippings, and has bits of his favorite peanut butter bone on one leg. It's an exercise in futility keeping him cleaned up!
Anyhow, I'll shut up for now I'll have to post some of those pictures of my crew that I threatened -- later today if I can.

actually we had jake for about 5 years & decided to get sugarbaby then to keep him company, someone to play with, he was always the center of attraction here. well boy did his nose get out of shape. He would have nothing to do with her for about 6 months, actually stopped playing wit his toys, really felt terrible about it. & she just adored him.She would sleep by him whenever she could. So it's not always a good idea. however he does like her now & they do play. but he has changed some from when it was just him. he no longer plays with any toys, & he had a ton of them. she plays with them now.But if i bring a new toy home, he gets it first, then drops it & she gets it, funny, just never know. But we have a little pekinese downstairs that they both like to play with.

And "the experts" say that animals don't have emotions ... sometimes I think it's as complicated as dealing with a little kid. I worry that our guy would be jealous as well if we got another dog. As it is, he is OK wilth having cats around, but there are times when the old lap gets a bit crowded. A cat sits down, and then suddenly he "has to" have your undivided attention as well. The other day I had a dog sleeping on one side of me, two cats on the other, and one cat sitting on my shoulder purring in my ear. Not a bad way to spend an hour, at least from my perspective. I do think it'd be nice for our guy to have a buddy to play with. We have a dogpark nearby, and he really loves going there, but there have been 2 attacks there in the last year (big dog on little dog), one fatal. So we're pretty leery about taking him down there right now.

What a beautiful family!!! I love Bosch's winning smile and Ayla's prowess! Jasmine, Milo, and Max are gorgeeeeous! I love hearing their stories as well--who said pets have no emotions just doesn't understand them. We all know better!
just precious pets, love them all.to cute.

Thanks guys -- I do love the little monsters. They make us laugh a lot, and I can't imagine what the last few years would have been like without them. They keep your blood pressure low and your spirits up.

PS: If you are interested in the topic of animal emotion, Patricia McConnell has written a fantastic book on the subject called "For the Love of a Dog". She is a phd animal behaviourist and really really knows her stuff, but is a true dog lover and just a fun human being. She's written a number of great books on dog training, but this one and another "The Other End of The Leash" are my absolute favorites. She makes a pretty strong argument "for" dog (and animal) emotion and also looks at why there's been so much resistance to the idea. It's a really entertaining read. I just love her stuff, and feel like I understand my dog a lot better (and vice versa) because of what I've learned from her books.
