Pretty bouquet! Is that Hitchcock furniture under it?

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Oh pretty blooms again everyone. Petunias, giant cosmos, mystery lily, geum, morning glories and glads are all lovely and a beautiful bouquet as well. Been trying to get things deadheaded and hope for a second wave of blooms on a lot of things that seemed to bloom earlier than normal this year.
A few of the newer additions blooming the last few days.
Hardy hibiscus 'Luna Red'.

Nice Pat,

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

we crossed.
Monardas are sweet.

Thanks Jo, have you tried any hardy glads? I love the regular ones but the digging up in fall or lose them seems to keep me from doing them every year.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Lovely begonia! The Glads are nice... I am growing some this year in memory of my mom, her favorites. Nice MGs! I'm liking that color on the Stokesia.

I am loving that plum hibiscus. Want to get one next spring. Do you like yours? How tall does it get for you?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I saw this GORGEOUS hibiscus when I was taking a walk yesterday. The blooms were HUGE, too bad I didn't have my camera...It was deep maroon(perfect for my yard)

Ronnie that Plum Crazy is beautiful!! Hardy??
I love the lilies Pat, but of course I would!! Is that 'Arena' ?

Robin I love the orange and the yellow two-tone...bet they make a great combo!!!
Ge, your MG are so nice, mine aren't doing much this year, not one bloom yet!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

The new lily is from Faraway Flowers and has been renamed 'Hot Line' from the previous name of starburst. It is a very substantial flower in size and texture. Here is a close up.

That is really odd, sorry for double post.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thats OK Pat...I have 'Starburst' too. I planted it in Auntie's garden but didn't remember to spray for the red lily beetle so they are chewed! The color on these cooler mornings on the other hand are lovely!!

Well, now I know what red beetle damage looks like--still very pretty bloom though! My favs usually seem to be the pastels, with occasional exceptions.

Good eye, Phoebe! The chairs are indeed Hitchcock, as well as the stenciled painting on the wall .....the table I originally had there was a Hitchcock, but I gave it to my son ...it was too small for family gatherings after he had his 3 kids! My DIL keeps it in their foyer. Loved the lilies, Pat, & if I ever conquer the lily beetle, I'll buy more. Jo, glads are easy, but they should be trenched so they grow straight. Ronnie, I'm drooling over Plum Crazy.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I will definatly consider them for next year. Can they go in containers?

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Robin, I just love Hitchcock furniture! I was sorry to see them go--I even loved their factory built in the woods on the river...beautiful!. I only managed to get 2 pieces--a pedestal drop leaf table w/fleur de lis painted (stenciled) on the top, and a gorgeous chair with a black seat and painted(stenciled) back at top of the spindles. I bought it to go with a Gov. Winthrop desk(not Hitchcock)--Sure wish I still had them!

I still have quite a few pieces, including a desk from my 15th birthday...just a few years ago, LOL. Someone who formerly worked for Hitchcock just reopened it, but I haven't been up there yet.

Teamwild, look as "Famosa", does this look like your lily??

Yes the Plum crazy is hardy in z6. I am real pleased with it, it's my second season and doubled in size from last year. Right now it's about 3' high and 2' around. I wonder if it roots easy.... I would be happy to try my hand at some cuttings for anyone that ones one.

Love the Lilies...they are talking about a co-op here and at Cubits.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

UGH!! I'm z 5a..zone envy again!!

Ummm, absolutely IMPOSSIBLE!!!!! LOL Try posting that on the lily forum...you might get an answer but I doubt it. I think even the experts will be just as dunbfounded as I am!!! LOL

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Celeste, Plum crazy is hardy to z4!!!

Keene, NH

I'm starting to think the voles are even craftier than I thought. Last year they ate several of my orientals and asiatics from the ground down and I had some interesting things pop up this year. One pure white trumpet where a Lollypop asiatic was, some Magentos came back but in three different shades and now these where the tiger lily was.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Oh my! Sounds like you have some Wood Elf's at you place ^_^

Really Ronnie??? Whooopppppeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)
