I just love that innocent look of the juvenile Scrub Jays.

wow. I've been busy for a couple of days and look how we're flying.
I'm pretty sure this is a Juvie Dickcissel. At some point, the Meadowlarks and Dickcissels start looking very similar to me.
Yup, Dickcissel! They have the heavy finch beak.
Meadowlarks have a longer, thinner beak.
Great Shot!

Nanny, your crows are cute. Mine all have their mouths open all day too. I bet your birds holler for their bowl to be filled when it's empty too. Mine sit on the edge of their feeder and holler at me through the window and boy do I get the message.lol
Glad to hear your owls are still around-you're so lucky.
Lily_love - you nailed the BR Heron - nice pic.
ducbucln - you do some really nice pics in the daily threads and it is comforting to me knowing that you've tried for three years and still just get "lucky" shots of hummers - oh, to be that lucky - I wish. I'm just waiting for one to alight at the feeder and give me a few moments of "non-flight". AND I enjoyed the pics of the thrasher and towhee.
nanny_56 (and duc) - I wouldn't mind having a few crows visit regularly. What do you all put in the bowls, whole kernel corn?

Lovely shots Lily, Duc and nanny!
Hack....I just put out cheap cat or dog food for them. They and the Blue Jays just love it! During the winter I sometimes put out some corn mixed in it too.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.

No pictures, of course, but I have been enjoying juvie red breasted wp on our suet feeder.
Those mountain shelducks are so colorful!
hey nanny, those new crows aren't afraid of that dish???
Great shots Margaret! Those ducks are beautiful. Good catch on the Caspian Tern fishing. The water looks lovely!

Yes they are... They have yet to successfully take something from the dish and eat it it is like, a 'you do ...no way, you do it' exchange between them and then they give up and leave! lol

lol. I'll give you twenty bucks if you go over there and take some of that food.
Wow, the Little Blue and its juvie Heron are neat looking! The juvie could easily be mistaken for egrets in my view. Nice shots there Frank. Nan, lol, I like your

The Black Crowned Night Heron working over-time (beyond the night shift).
Here's one of my house wrens. Don't ask me what is happening with the nest box. I have no idea. Seems like he found a girl and now looks like she's gone. The box is filled so full I"m afraid to have a look inside. When I go close to the box, none bother me, but I see maybe 3 or 4 in the general vicinity. Seems they like to hang in the trumpet vine.
