MJ . . .
Oh Neat! I am happy that I have given you some Trellis and other ideas for growing other MGs and vines. If you would like to know how we build our Trellises, D-Mail me and I will give you instructions.

Nichole,
I’ve had quite a few really huge I. nil MG blooms. The largest I can remember was right at 8”. It was straight out of a JMG Seed Mix Pack that I never got an ID on and called it Velvet Plum.

Here is one of the first blooms. I tried to find one that looks like it is being strangled, but can’t find it at the moment . . . lol
If I find it, I'll post it. You can see how huge it is in that photo

Becky, Your mutant bloom is as lovely as it was last yr.
I love the Murasaki mutant cross too, beautiful shade of turquoise
Very pretty blooms Emma.
Thanks Helena, the Pink Porcelain is a beauty.

One for Debra and Jackie, JMG 'Orihime'. I marvel at its large flowers and how they can open up perfectly most of the time.

MJ - Go for it! :-) I love my clemmies!

Nice blooms everyone! You can tell that summer has arrived by the sheer number of I. nil blooms posted here.

Jackie - Thanks! Your Saz and mutant are really pretty! I am growing another of your Fuji no Sora and hoping for a mutant, too! :-)

Helena - Thank you for your kind compliments! Your Pink Porcelain Blizzard is another of my favorites! I am so glad to have shared seeds with everyone of that one! Yours is so elegant!

Joseph - I liked 'Orihime', too, when I grew it.

I finally got a bloom on this vine. It is a no id, so pretty, all white with a touch of purple speck on the edge of it. No label on this vine so it could be one of Dany12 mixed... not sure... I germinated some of Gerris2 seeds too. Do any of you recognize this to be one of your seeds. It's a pretty big flower.

Thanks Nicole, to tell you the truth I really don't know how many vines I have growing. I find that hard to do and keep loosing the count, made the same mistake again of growing more than 1 vine in a big pot. But I have 3 more trays of seedlings coming up, lol!

Helen, I have several vines from your seeds of the seed swap coming up. I can't wait!
Beautiful blooms everyone. Due to the heat and no rain here, I am not outside as much as I would like to be. But I do get out in the early am to see whats blooming. A nice small light purple/lave i. nil came up from Moretz mix.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Joseph, thanks for sharing a pic of your Orihime, so pretty.

Becky, thanks, I hope you get your mutant no Sora. I will send you a few more sds if necessary.

Love your pinks Helena, esp the no Mai. Your soft blue almost looking like
a no Sora is a beauty.

Emma, gorgeous blooms
Time for a new thread

I am tempted to start some more but I don't want to waste any seeds if it's going to take too long before producing flowers, then seeds....

You can bring a small container indoors if you have room near a window or can provide some sort of lighting for the plant. The plant will continue to happily flower and finish off seeds.

Nicole - If you have plenty of seeds, I'd go ahead and sow some. I don't know how hot it gets in August and September where you are, but here it is the hottest months of the year! If you plant some in pots, you can move them around to get full sun even if it starts cooling down. But that may not even be an issue with the heat we are having this year. I also have noticed that my seeds germinate really quick this time of year, then the plants grow quick and bloom within a month, and seeds follow that cycle. It's the heat for I. nils! Go for it! But keep some seeds for back-up just in case. ;-) And I. purpureas like it a little cooler, so plant a couple of those and they will reward you when it starts cooling off. :-) Happy sowing and growing!

DeLand/Deleon Spring, FL(Zone 8b)

I sowed some Floating Cloud and K - something I'm too tired to go look up right now, day before yesterday. NO soaking, and they are up today. So they do sprout quickly !

I missed replying to some posts above ...

Look at all the different colors of blooms! :-)

Nicole - Your bloom reminds me a little of "Lunatic." The leaves on mine were half light color and half dark color. And it had white blooms that had flecks or stripes every so often. But the flecks on mine were a dark blue, not purple like yours. Looks really lovely whatever it is. Nice to see an almost solid white I. nil!

Helena - WOW! Does this one have a name? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7977613 I really like it! And I love the pink split blooms! Impressive! They are all really pretty! I can't believe all the seedlings you have growing. I think I have 14 growing right now. They will need to be potted up soon. I can't wait to see blooms as they are some more unusual ones. :-)

Debra - I finally got rain here, but is was only a short shower. My yard is about fried again this year. I hope you and I both get some much needed relief with some good down pours!

Jackie - I can't wait to see your Plum Shadows blooms. That's really funny because I have one growing now too. Mine came from Antoinette though, not my old seed stock. I may have to grow both. :-)

MJ - What is Floating Cloud and K?

Becky,
Ok...pulled the seed packs back out
on the Floating Cloud, it's was a sealed packet from Japan, I got in a trade , says' Morning Glory Urigumo "Floating Cloud"
actually found it on plant files

http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/162884/

The other one I sowed is Kikyo, I purchase form Dave's Market place. A mix so don't know which color's I may end up with I sowed a few of those.

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

I have more blooms on that vine this morning so I'll have to take some more pics. It's up there, so I can't tell if there are specks on the new buds or not...

Gautier, MS

Debra, hope you get nice blooms from my seeds and don't disappoint you. I love how you can grow so so many different plants.

Becky thanks, the label on that one was lost probably when my grandson was out with me.
