Dori, where did you get that toad lily? Want to trade?
July Lilies
Vossner - thanks - I appreciate the input.
Dori - gorgeous toad lily!
Polly, I suppose you're right about Dutch imports, there's just no way to know anything about the specific producer of the bulbs. I'm sure there are plenty of reputable growers producing Lilies in Holland, but I imagine the huge volume of Tulips (and lots of Lilies too) grown there would make it nearly impossible to be 100% certain all the bulbs from a particular farm are virus free.
White Henryi is such a wonderful Lily, I think I may have some that I purchased under the name 'Bright Star'. I've read from some sources that White Henryi, Bright Star, and Lady Alice are all the same Lily, but I believe they're all registered separately. How does one tell the difference between them?
I believe that Lady Alice has pronounced 'whiskers'. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/122044/ Llilyfan grows it and maybe she'll chime in.
Grapus, that Mistika x Lolipop seedling has a lot of excellent qualities.
dlefferts, sorry again, that's not Leslie Woodriff http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=7959252
It's a whole lot different: http://www.lilyregister.com/register/details.php?id=5253
But that is White Henryi, as long as the center color is orange and not yellow.
mnorberry, an asounding form of L. nepalense. Congratulations! Do you have any more pics to post on the species thread? http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1107581/

Digging lilies ,question.
Can I dig and divide lilies in August?
Doridunn - I don't sell lilies, I collect them & trying to learn about them. I will trade as soon as I get them to multipy and finally learn what I've planted.
Leftwood - please keep correcting me and don't be sorry. This is the only way I'm going to learn. I'll try & find out the correct name of the lily. I've noticed that my lilies are not very colorful this year & it has become hardier to tell the difference. I've finally learned that so many conditions apply - soil, sun, weather, and etc. that influnence the color & how a lily might bloom from year to year. White Henri has all the right colors & markings. Once again Thanks
It sure is lily time at your house Dlefferts
I cant remember which thread I asked about the odd coloring on my Satisfaction lilies.
I was told the heat had caused the problem. I just checked and further blooms on the same stalk above the first that opened so pale, have returned to color.
Guess its not as hot lasy few days.
Viruses would be inside the lily bulb, stem, leaves, everything except seeds. Bleach will not kill them.
B&B seemed to think the lollipops were virused also, so they credited my account. She recommended to keep them until next spring and see if they look the same. If they come out nice, it could be reaction to extreme weather changes, which we've had. Thank goodness they are potted, so they will be isolated while I run the experiment.
Question: if a lily does not display virus at first flowering, does it mean we are in the clear for good? or could virus develop later?
I just have to comment about B&B's That is one great company. They do honor and issue. They credited me when my Lady Alices turned out to be Regals.
About the virus question I am so new to lilies I cant comment.
How tall is yours Nanny
