JoAnn has such a great feel for color.....afraid my beds are rather willy-nilly.
WOW WOW WOW, Tex and Dahlia! Great shots and gorgeous beds, Tex! How in the world do you get so many blooms on your echi's?? What kind of fertilizer do you use, may I ask? Just stunning, and that curb corner garden just made my jaw drop!
Dahlia - that cute little swirly-colored mini rose is fantabulously prettiful (in Dahlia speak)!
More pretties from you too, JoAnn! Keep 'em coming!
Marilyn - you have quite a nice DL collection there! Mine are just starting to open...so exciting to see if I put the plant labels in the right places! LOL
Great blooms, ladies!
I missed alot today!! Beautiful blooms everyone!
Nice!! Beautiful lilies!!!!!
Love that shot of Love in the Mist....it's 2-toned!!!
thanks... me too
DonnieBrook - my secret is TLC, a lot of TLC and more TLC. The truth is I really ignore them, but they do get watered once a week. A couple feeding of Miracle Gro early in the season and that's it.
But then most of my echies are in the same bed with roses. Every bed I got all have roses, echinaceas, and lilies.
The roses get a feeding of a mixture of alfalfa meal, bone meal, blood meal, cottonseed meal, fish meal, etc..
The roses also get a monthly feeding of a liquid concentrate that contains Epsom Salts, sequestrine chelated iron, soluble seaweed extract, fish solubles, urea. So I'm sure some of those get consumed by the echinaceas too.
Time to time. about every 4-6 weeks the beds get sprayed with liquid kelp (seaweed extract) that also contains micro elements from A to Z.
There you go, the secret is out. Or maybe you're jaw just dropped again with all the stuff I listed. LOL!
wow that's a lot of steps... I like kelp as well... the coleus seem to love it
Kelp is kind of a magic elixir and almost every plant can benefit from it. Coastal gardeners often get seaweed and make their own concoctions for their gardens. Fish extracts/soluble is great too. It's so gross and foul smelling but it's worth it. Just take a shower afterwards otherwise you will smell like fish.
and the reason I won't use them.... if I smell that... won't get into details.. but will be a dark shade of green
Love your album, Allison, the plants are beautiful, and the touches of whimsy just right. Those lilies are talllllll!
thank you Polly...when Randy doesn't have puppy love... he is usually out there measuring that lily once a week... he was shocked he missed the whole growth thing... LOL
Album is great Allison.Your containers are great.Love the parrot planter
Allison, lovely blooms, love the lilies, very whimsical containers.
My pictures are not loading from my end. Lotsa sunflowers and hibiscus blooming, got dainty queen anne's lace, astilbe, parsley and baby's breath in bloom as well.
