Holy Smokes...330 Daily Pics threads!!

We are all getting our fill of our summer birds right now and there is such hustle & bustle around the yard and the neighborhood!

The Graycat Birds are everywhere it seems. I find that they are really helping with the slug population here. I find them hunting in the hosta bed alot in the mornings. I like that! This one was head to the little bed on the side of the house.

Spotted this female Baltimore Oriole down the street while I was out walking one day.

This Robin fledgling hanging out on the neighbors playset...thought that was kind of cute!

Last that I have...I was soo thrilled to see this Tufted Titmouse the other morning. They are here but rarely seen during the summer since they don't come to the feeders.

Looks like a cedar waxwing, especially if traveling with 'friends'.

I think the young red-bellieds are so cute! Nice pics GP! I have a number of them here and they have a very sweet disposition.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Agreed with Pelle, Redbellied Woodpeckers are so so sweet.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

This maybe a young Carolina Wren, it was chirping a different tune while an adult was just loudly protesting at moi whose stood too close to the little one with a threatening object in hands (my camera). lol

We are starting our second brood of BB's here. First chick just hatched. Eggs from yesterday.

First chick this a.m. I cheeped and it opened its mouth to be fed. Dirty trick to play on a baby, but it makes a good pic. :) We are leaving for a week, but one of my neighbors says she is going to put on mealworms.

One of the juvies from the first brood. I saw 4 of the 6 together yesterday, so I know at least 4 have survived.

Geez, what big bird have you gotten there, Nan! lol, Red those BBs are just so adorable. Nan, the Mama Wren was coaching the youngin near by. If I'm not mistaken, they're here year round.

I just saw a pair of Goldfinches. A male and female just dropped by the feeder to "fuel" up and off on their way. It has been weeks since I saw one other couple. But they didn't even eat and just left.

Red Headed Woodpecker on the tree to the side yard. Too far away to tell if it's a juvenile or an adult.

Cute ones Lily!

Resin and Nanny, thanks for the new thread. Nanny, your jays are such pretty birds and I love that catbird. I see your orioles are really green too when they're young. Glad you were seeing that titmouse.

Beahive, great photo of your Cedar Waxwing. Hope you have some berries on trees or shrubs so they'll stay a while.

GP, that baby red-bellied is just adorable!

Lily, aren't those wrens cute? Keep checking your flower beds, I've seen my goldfinches here just in the early evenings and they're in the flowers mostly looking for bugs and seeds. I sure wish I could see one of your red-heads!

Red, glad you'll have more fledglings soon. Glad to hear you've seen some of the juvies.

I've been concentrating on photographing my hummingbirds lately, but I did get a photo of one of my younger Crows just watching me.

Nice ones GP!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

GP, I love the pic. of the Dove with the nesting material in her beak. Duc, I'm constantly watching my feathered friends while I spent time outdoor. Hoping to catch some Goldfinches perching on flowers looking for bugs and what's not, but no such luck thus far. I've come to a conclusion "they must like Duc more than they do me". Just kidding. lol. Goldfinches this time of year may just merely passing through our region (?).

Brown Thrasher up on tree top. This one is making agitiating sounds, probably alarming others of my 'intrusion' in the garden.

Carolina Wren was caught off guard. She/he was too busy singing and didn't see me until we were arm length from each other.

Good ones Lily! I always like seeing those two.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

GP, goody, hopefully we'll be seeing dove babies soon! We have them here year round and I still haven't seen one baby. Ms. Cardinal is a beauty too.

Lily, that Brown Thrasher sure is a pretty bird. Great catch on your Wren!!

I have no idea what this pair of Crows was doing in our yard late yesterday. First this one jumped up on this boulder and looked all around.

Thumbnail by ducbucln
Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Then this one walked up close to it and actually laid down on the warm rocks (finally we have the sun!). My DH thought this one was spreading its wings like the Turkey Vultures do on tops of power poles to rid their feathers of parasites.

They stayed like this for over 5 minutes, just looking at each other. Has anyone ever seen them do this?
