Well, with this being June 12th already I thought it was time we moved from May *lol*
I have a few blooms to share with everyone.
Please understand that some of these are repeats (but new blooms) as some of my plants are just not mature enough to bloom yet but a few of them are their first blooms.
Here is Sinningia Scentimental Journey. This is a first bloom for her:
June Blooms
OK everyone, time to share pictures of your blooming beauties.
This one isn't blooming right now but here is a picture of the bloom when it arrived in May.
Nematanthus Lemon Lime - I really enjoyed this bloom as it lasted a long time. There are lots of buds so when it blooms fully I will grab a better shot :)
Kim,
Your pictures are wonderful ^_^.All of your leaves look so perfect too.I love the 'egg' you made!!
Lynn
Great blooms, they are all beautiful!
Just lovely. I think my streps are jealous looking at your pictures and want to come and live with you :-). Then maybe they would bloom pretty like yours.
Thank you everyone but I really can't take the credit for the blooms as these ones just seem to WANT to bloom *lol*.
We went to "the worlds largest yard sale" today and there were SO many tables with some really old things on them.
I found 3 or 4 nice containers with lids to make terrariums with. I hope to make a terrarium for my new episcia one day this week. Although it's not blooming I will share a picture when it's done. I'm really enjoying terrariums right now. They are just so maintenance free and the plants seem to enjoy them.
I also found a teeny teacup set which I plan to put a micro in. I'll take a picture when that's done too.
Yesterday I went to Lowe's and they had some Sesame Street "kids sets" that came with seeds etc. BUT the thing I liked is the tiny pots and how they came with their own little dome. Not just that but the pots are nice cheery colors. I selected the hot pink and bright yellow. They also had red and orange. I find my babies really enjoy these little greenhouses. I have 4 sets so far and hope to pick up a couple more before the season is over.
Here is a picture of what I am talking about:
Kim,
Those are so cute!!
Lynn
Lynn, I just love those sets. In fact I put some seedlings in the hot pink one last night as I was playing plants.
Jamie, that is SUCH a pretty plant! I just love the baby blue flowers on it! Do you grow it in the open or do you dome it? I just received my first episcia (Blue Nile) and I've been moving it from one spot to another trying to figure out where to grow it. I have never really delved into them that is why I started with only 1. Yours is SO cute!
Kim
I played around with terrariums last night and had SUCH a fantastic time playing and making these. I don't know why but it almost seems magical making these miniature gardens.
All of these (other than the bubble gum machine) containers were purchased yesterday at the "world's largest yardsale). I left with 3 bags of stuff and only spent $10.00 on EVERYTHING. I even found one of the Fairies like Sally has brand new in the package for $2.00. I was tickled. But other than that most things were a quarter or fifty cents.
Here is the first one. I just love how large this one is (but still fits on my windowsill) and the big fat belly on it. My long term goal is hopefully one day they will set seed and seed themselves to fill in the empty spots.
Here is the tiny tea cup (brand new in the box for $1.00) with a seedling of White Sprite that I grew from seed myself (yes, a little proud of that.......*lol*). Seeds are showing to be quite difficult for me so when something sprouts and I am able to grow it it's a very exciting moment indeed *lol*
Well, it looks like Mighty Mose really is enjoying his bubble gum home :)
Everywhere I go now I look to see if there is anything I can turn into a terrarium *lol*
Now I need to find more terrarium plants *lol*.
I couldn't fit the episica in a terrarium :( Not many plants small enough to grow in these but micros are and they are SO fun :)
Hope you enjoyed the pictures as I SO enjoyed making the terrariums last night.
Today is cook the wings day and propagate as many plants as possible. :)
Kim
Hey Kim;
Looks like that plant loves it there. Good job. lol

I have absolutely NO idea what I'm going to use these for but this lady had a set of 4 of them and said they were from her wedding back in 1969 (the year I was born) and I just think carnival glass is SO pretty with all the colors. They seem to be a try with a circle cut it in for the tea cup. They are SO pretty in person but again I really don't have a clue what to do with them. It was one of those things; her story really touched me and I could tell she wanted me to buy them. Now that I have them home it's where to put them or what to do with them. I do believe they were to serve tea and crumpits with? I don't plan on having a tea party any time soon so I'm open to any suggestions people have as to what to use these for *lol* Love the colors in them though :)
Kim
those are luncheon trays. They are intended for lap use and work well for soup, tea or coffee and sandwich and sides - no need for table. Love all your flowers.
When we had Garden Club meetings most members had sets of these plates and cups. As we always brought a sandwich which was cut up and served on a tray - you never got your own- and beverage and dessert provided by the host...Festive and feminine.
those trays and cup are to die for

The trays and cups brought back memories of my bridal shower in the 60's. The host had two sets of 6 each and they were exactly the same as those you bought. I love all of your terriaums and plants. They are so cute! But my real eny is for your plants!!! Great growing. Lou

Hey Connie :) Here's a hug back at cha ((((( HUG )))))
Kim
Very nice, Lynn. You grow them so well you don't need to do anything but point and shoot! LOL!!!! I think my streps got too hot under the lights :( I will start replacing them in the fall...sniff, sniff...We don't have the central air out there and it gets warm when the lights are on. Fans only circulate it. I do have this one blooming though. This is Faye :)
Connie
Lynn and Connie what BEAUTIFUL babies you have!
I love Bright Eyes, Helter Skelter and Faye! Absolutely stunning!
Great growing and lovely pictures too!
Keep 'em coming :)
