I was sitting waiting for a bit of osprey action this afternoon; there was none. Deep within the shrubs were Pardalotes and Fairy Wrens. It's only the bushes moving and their sounds that give their presence away. I did, however, manage a couple of quick shots of a Silvereye.
DAILY PICS, VOLUME 329
burn_2007 - man, I hate it about you baby Robins. But I'm glad the neighbor's Cliff Swallow's nest is doing okay.
MargaretK - that New Holland Honeyeater is one nice looking bird. AND is that Silvereye eating berries from a Dogwood tree?
Well, I'll be off-line for 3 - 4 days. Got to break down and move the computer so we came have our carpet replaced with a hardwood floor.
See, ya'll around the middle of next week.
Hack
Nice ones Margaret!
Burn, Love the Cliff Swallows!
Burn, that is sad about the robins. Nature can be brutal. On my list of things to do is get a sparrow trap up and running before I suffer a bluebird tragedy. I didn't used to have any, but now about a half-dozen are on the millet feeder constantly tossing out the seed. Daddy BB chases them every time he sees one.
A Painted Bunting on the cage feeder. I think this is a young male, but could be a female. He seems to have a little more color than the other female I see around the yard.
He is very cute red!
I've been away but a week, and good gracious, look at all what I've missed. I'll have to spend hours looking and enjoying your many posts and make some remark later. Here is one pic. I captured out in SouthWest region. Rock Pigeons?
Thank you, HMM for the brand new thread. Nice ones of the Cardinals. I love seeing them around here.
Hi Margaret, your 'Silvered Eyes' look remarkably like one of the warblers I saw in Hawaii last March.
Hack, I'm glad you've shared the pics. of the juvy Brown Thrashers. Thus far I've had two broods (from my back/front yard) and I wasn't lucky enough to capture one single picture of them younguns.
Nan, your Robin Juvies too. I haven't even the fortune to capture many good pics. of the adults, let along the juvies. Nice ones. Thanks.
Hi again everyone. Thanks to everyone who shared your pics. and enjoyment with us on our posts. Little Things. Love all the pics. you've shared.
Here is a pair of the Pigeons romancing the water-downspout. Which isn't a good place for them to nest. But occassionally they will nest there, and you know what happens. When it rains (which is very seldome, but it does out in the Desert) the nest, and sometimes eggs will be rolling down to the ground below -- which is sad to me.
Burn, I'm so sorry to hear about your nest and babies. Glad you found the fledglings to cheer you up. Great photos of them.
Margaret, I love that Honeyeater! Such a beautiful bird. Oh, and that Silvereye is incredible!
Red, great picture of your Bunting!
Welcome home Lily. Hope your trip was wonderful. Hope that Pigeon nest survives until the babies fledge.
Nanny, you're lucky to see the bbs! Love the Downys-great photos!
This very young Oriole landed on the deck railing and just sat there.
Red bellied wp has decided that our feeder is nice. Will try & remember to get more suet cakes next week.
Great pictures & I really love the heron chicks.
Thanks guys, I try and add something from time to time, african flavour! I do enjoy all your pics so much. Rian
Wild_Rose, I love your osprey shots.
Great shots everyone! I'm really enjoying all of them!
VA, Wonderful pics. I'm so glad you went back to the Green Heron nest, they are adorable! The Ospreys look great!
I love that first one. The female looks a little tired. :-)
GP, I wonder if your two wps were trying to impress a female nearby. Hope so, that way we'll see more babies soon. Great silhouette on the Flycatcher.
Iris, glad you're seeing a Red-bellied too.
WildRose, your heron family is just the cutest! Did you get to see if that baby finally swallowed the fish? Those fuzzy babies won my heart immediately! Awesome photos of the Osprey family too. Love the way the adults turn that fish forward.
Red, great pictures of the finches!
Lily, sorry you didn't get to see any Goldfinches. We do have them. Cute Pigeon.
While my husband and I were having lunch out on our deck yesterday, we enjoyed a pair of Bald Eagles searching for fish on the lake.
Great shots duc! You live in such a wonderful place for bird watching!
I am way way way behind....and will never get caught up on all the threads and comments to be made. Thanks to all for sharing!
The Robin's have a nest in the Black Walnut tree and visit the yard all day to get worms.
Edited to thank Mary for the new thread!!

That's either one really long worm or quite a few small ones! Anyway… a beak full!
Welcome Back Rose
