I've enjoyed seeing the world of birds through your eyes -- every one of you! All the beautiful colors and behaviors you've caught have been a wonderful thing to behold. "My" resident Cardinal, Floyd (he's such a pretty boy), now brings his family to the feeder. Here he is enjoying a meal by himself.

Thanks Mary!

I have to have a talk with the Eastern Towhees...they always come when it is so dark in this part of the yard!

Enjoyed the towhee. I don't see many here. A pic of one of the bluebird juveniles. Had 3 on the feeder this a.m. Mama is sitting on 4 more eggs that should hatch around June 16.

Margaret, it's great to see your photos. The Lorikeets are such a colorful bird and the nest looks like it's all ready for the new season. We have a couple osprey nests that always have the Acorn Woodpeckers nesting just below them. Great shot of Big Hook. She looks like she's making certain nothing happens to her nest.

Hack, that female HOSP has a juvie mouth. I think they're cute even if we don't want them around. Great job with the mocker photo. Wish I had some of those Cardinals here-they're so pretty.

Mary, thanks for starting our newest thread. "Floyd" sure is a handsome guy.

Nanny, it's hard to get pictures of the Towhees at any time of the day-you did great.

Red, I love your bb baby and your Sparrow family is adorable.

One of my Crows was causing a scene at the birdbath. Another one came and took off with it, but I don't think this was a juvenile.

Awesome photos Little things! I love the eyes on the Oystercatchers! I'd be so busy taking pictures all day there that the housecleaning would suffer badly.

Do you think this could be a female Baltimore Oriole with a bad case of mites??

Nanny, love that little Downy-so cute. I can't see the head clear enough, but if it's like my Bullock's, the black coloring is just beginning to show on the feathers. I like to think positive and hope this is the case.

HelloMissMary - Thanks for the new thread. I like you feeders. Good shot of the Card, too.

nanny_56 - nice captures both sexes of Towhees. AND nice snap of the Downy.

reddirtretiree - Thanks for the shot of the Lark Sparrow feeding its young - I've never seen one.

ducbucln - I just love the look of your Tree Swallows. My Cardinals have nothing on them.

Little_things - those African Black Oystercatchers are just too cool. AND nope, I don't mind Whales! I've never even seen one in person.

Nice ones Hack!
I'm looking forward to seeing juvy Cardinals.

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Thanks pelle,

I went outside and sat in my car for about 15 minutes. These 3 pics were all I got and were taken in the 15 minutes prior to 8 PM. Light was fading, window "tripod" mount was used to hold the camera. I also used cable shutter release.

The first pic is of another juvy Cardinal.

Over in the shadows I spotted some movement and got a pic of this juvy (I think) Brown Thrasher.

And my last pic is of a Carolina Chickadee I happened to spot up in the branches - it just sat there - not a twitch. Usually, I see them "bouncing" all around, splitting seeds, but this one just sat there. I wonder if was on the roost? It may still be there now. But I can't see, it's dark outside.

Nice pics Hack....You really do have a lot of juvie cardinals! Nice one of the Thrasher too.

I have loads of juvie Robins right now...I just wish they would come out in the sun for better pics!

This dad Robin had 2 juvies keeping him very busy yesterday between my yard & the neighbors!

HMM, thanks for the nice start with the Cardinal. It's a treat for me,b/c I've never seen any here. I did hear report of some in the area though.
Nanny, glad you got those nice shots of the Towhees. Haven't seen the Downy, in quite some time.
Duc, it's so good to see the Tree Swallow is not afraid of you, and allows you to take such nice shots of him. You also did good ont the Crow and Titmice.
Little thing, It's very obvious, the Oystercatcher, wear their name well.;) The Cormorants are really nice also.
Hack, I love the juvie Cardinals.

I was expecting to see some Robins babies, fledged soon, but I found the nest on the ground this morning, and the babies were scattered around the yard mutilated. It was a very sad outcome. I kind of expected, they were not going to make it. The nest was to low and, very exposed. I'm watching another one in the other Spruce tree. That one will have a better chance of survival. Hope they make it.
On a brighter note, I found something unusual this morning. A Cliff Swallow's nest, under the roof of my back yard neighbor. They all fledged today, They would practice flying, going back and forth to the nest. It was quite amazing to see. These are pictures, I got of some of them.

Burn, I'm so sorry about your Robins.

Lovely photos, everyone. Rian, so good to see your birds. The Oystercatchers are incredible birds with those strange eyes.
