Excellent shots Duc!!
Great catches on the Eagles and the Orioles are so beautiful! Sweet Towhee. Thanks for posting them!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Wonderful shots Duc, so vivid and colorful. Love the action shots of the Eagles and the Crow defending its nest.

Lake, MI

I finally figured out what made the nest on the side of my house. I thought it was a swallow of some sort. Sorry for the blurry picture, I had to use the aquarium setting to get it to go through the window. It is an Eastern Phoebe.

Congrats Amy on your Phoebe's nest. I watched them nested on my garage eave last year. It was a beautiful experience.

That is very cool Amy!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I need that Egret Lily!! LOL

Beautiful duc...love that towhee singing shot!!

Very cool Amy! I haven't seen as many phoebe's around this year as usual. I did spot this one and get a bad shot of it.

So far we have ID'd 4 different males....still no sightings of any females. They have to be around somewhere. Maybe they are hanging out out at the lady's down the road that has an oriole feeder out!

The fruit platform has proven to be very popular. We are even getting butterflies at it now. DH said to me last night that it was a really good idea that we put that up!

Congrats Amy, hope you'll soon be seeing little ones.

Nanny, the oriole is beautiful, so is the cardinal. Gee, sure wish I could see the red-bellied. Do your orioles enjoy the orange or jelly?

Quote from Lily_love :
This female Mallard lost sight of her mate, she walked back and forth calling/searching for him.

He just needs to look in a mirror, and he'll see himself . . . ;-)

The feeder I bought especially for smaller birds and to deter Grackles works--almost!

OMG GG!! :-)))

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

2dCousinDave - thanks for starting a new thread. I'll bet the owner of the parrot wanted to cry - maybe he did. I know I would have as I watched $1,000 fly away. And I love the pic mom sitting on the nest box roof, ignoring the baby, reminds me of my pic of the baby Cardinal after dad flew off and left it behind.

nanny_56 - nice shot of little House Wren. Just the other day I saw a Carolina Wren, but my camera was in the house :-(. AND you made some nice pics of the Oriole and Cardinal.

Lily_love - I'm curious, did the female Mallard's mate ever show back up? AND I like your Eastern Kingbirds.

ducbucln - that's a nice action shot of the Bald Eagle, with its dinner, being harassed by crow. AND I envy you your Orioles. What pretty birds.

Amos55 - cool, you have a Phoebe nest.

adelbertcat - They can be loud, huh? - good shot of the Mallard

GrannyGrunt - now, you have to admit, that tree rat would sure deter Grackles.

Even with all the negative things that relate to a Starling, they are real pretty to me.

Rofl...that is tooo funny! lol

Oriole is still hanging around...but is still timid. But a got a nice shot of him the other day.

Yes Hack! That tree rat may be good for that.

Pelle, that is exactly what I said when I saw that. Now, I have to set up a camera to see how in the heck he is getting in there! Persistent little critters. And admittedly, funny to watch them.

Marlton, NJ

Hack, Nice shots, glad your seeing the red-bellied!

Burd, H's a handsome one!

GG, That would be funny to watch.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

My my my, I don't know how my vision is so 'near sighted'. Thank Resin for spotting that. I went back and looked at that Mallard-in the mirror, and he sees himself. lol.

Hack, this sweet one looks like a juvie, possibly. About the miss identity Mallard; I don't know if the duck ever reunite with its mate. I saw that at a Restaurant outing. I guess I'll return to the Restaurant soon. (There goes my diet, lol, lol).

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Duc, the orioles love the jelly and grapes, but only eat the oranges occasionally here. I put the oranges out mainly for the woodpeckers to eat.

Hot Grackle getting a drink

Ha. Nice grackle. Love the half open eye, like he's reaaaalllly hot and sleepy.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

This new arbor is really a hit with the Northern Cardinals and most of my residential birds. Yesterday, and today I discovered the Eastern Kingbirds really like it too:

I bet it is an awesome place to perch and look for bugs.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Good observation Marna, they have a panorama view of both the yard and the lake. The Kingbird often flew over this nook to hide from the furbabies below. Here she's in my hanging basket.

Beautiful work guys.Thanks for sharing.
Dave, I feel so bad for those people who lost their parrot. Hope they can find him again. Thanks for the beautiful start.

I found this female Wood Duck at the swamp, I visit once in a while.

Adel, I think your little Mallard looks happy.

GrannyG, that picture is hilarious! Squirrels sure are smart little critters.

Hack, I love your "red" birds too. That closeup of the dove is sweet. Your picture of the lady finch is the kind of pose I'm always trying to get-it gives the bird a personality. Great job.

Burd, love that oriole. Their colors sure stand out well with any background.

Nanny, I'm going to try the grapes with my orioles, but I doubt they'll go for it. Your grackle looks like it's grateful for the water. Hope you'll see young towhees soon! I've never seen one here and have no idea what they look like.

Lily, glad you're still seeing the kingbird. Love that hummer feeder.

Burn, pretty setting with the duck.

My pair of House Finches are regular visitors to the birdbaths.
