nice! love the clover in the lawn:)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Me too! You should grow some - it would hide your hose. ^_^

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

you hoser!

i have a little - weed-b-gone does the trick:)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Honestly, clover is softer on the footsies than the grass.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Bill, what do you use on the hibiscus caterpillers?? I saw damage. I've used BT but it's only worked so-so.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

not if the grass is full and long - what ever works for you is the way to go.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i bought that bt last year because you recommended it and found it a hassle because it does not have a shelf life once you mix it up - so i have been spraying with a "synthetic" bug killer every few days - actually it is a bayer bug spray could be synthetic never looked - have to stay on the program though because they just keep coming back - i use it in the veggy garden early in the year for the eggplant which attract killer bugs - once large and established do not need it.

i was going to pick up a small hand sprayer and try bt again - since your asking maybe it does not work well.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well, I'll let you know. I just mixed some up and sprayed today. We'll see. Last year, it would work, but they would return. Maybe I just have to do it more regularly.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Very nice Victor.Dont think I have ever seed your entire yard.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

do you just use a hand sprayer bottle like a windex bottle?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jo. I did post a similar series last year - on a long view thread that you started. One last one - looking toward the pool. I'll be trimming that honeysuckle on the arbor soon, as well as the Coppertinas and some other stuff along the walkway.

what is the tree in front of the blue spruce?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Golden dawn redwood - Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Ogon'.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

wow that gets big - how long have you had it and what would you estimate the current size?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

About 9 years. It's about 25 feet. Grows very quickly - up to four feet per year while young.

Thomaston, CT

Sigh...nice photos...I'm embarrassed to show long views because they tend to show weeds, & Bill will comment.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Don't feel bad, Robin. I was judicious in my cropping!

Thomaston, CT

I really need to learn how to do that.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Do I need to buy a lens for a Nikon D50 for panoramic views or should I just go up on the roof and shoot from there?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What lens do you have?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I have two, one is 70-300 mm and the other is 18-55 mm, in my non tech mind that translates to standard and telephoto.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The 18-55 is fine for wide shots.

Woodstock Valley, CT(Zone 5b)

Just my 2 cents, but clover in the lawn is a good thing...I overseed with conservation seed that has clover in it...nitrogenates the soil and feeds the grass....I recommend checking out the Paul Tukey book if you have not already...

And Bill don't be ashamed of your hose...or you can just photoshop it out of the pictures like I do... ;-)

Victor, good to see your Japanese maple has the same growth habit as mine, we call it the poodle...ok, maybe yours is not quite so poodle like....
