Tropical Garden # 74

Red Oak, TX

mjsponies, if you ever find a Nong Nooch vine buy it. They will bloom all summer, a real show stopper when in full bloom.
Love the butterfly Orchid vine as well, I had two very old plants that died last winter. I will definately replace those.

joeswife, we do have the same taste in plants, we love everything!! Surprisingly, I had a few petunias (Laura Bush) that came back from seeds this spring, they can take the Texas heat.

Texas native MG. dug up from the roadside.

Texasbigleaves, I am so sorry that I missed your visit. I must have been in the far back yard. That is a very nice clump of variegated bamboo you have there. I might have to come visit with my bill dukie. lol
Congrats. to VR his first grandchild.

Your native is a Pandurata, please save me some seeds, I have been trying to grow that for a year.
it got up to 98 here today, even the sun loving plants wilted in the heat.
This is one of the ones I can't find, he is lost in a pot somewhere, hopefully he will show his face.

Well I was visiting my friend in New Orleans this spring and we were out and about shopping. Well we went to lowes to get some potting soil and i noticed this agapanthus for 5.95 in a 1gallon pot. So I purchased one and bought it back. I transplanted it to this pot a few weeks ago and it is growing well. When will it bloom for me I am not sure when.

i shouldn't be long. some of mine have buds. A few of the new agapanthus that I planted last yr bloomed in late, late summer so I think there is a wide bloom period. I love agapanthus. I think it is going to be one of those plants that is going to be spectacular this year b/c of the unusually harsh winter we had.

Pensacola, FL(Zone 8b)

Wow thank you vossner I am sure that I will get buds soon then,,,,,,lol

Here is a purple hyacinth vine that I started from some seeds I got on DG.

I found the king war something.. it is in this bag thing, where it was in the winter before I brought it out, this bag thing came to me from my sister last year, and it was strung across the south east fence area. I am going to move it this week.. it is different than a caladium or colocasias.. it doesn't have a bulb thing. It is on the right there.

Rita thank you. I enjoyed viewing a bloom from your A. Cordatum and I know you and your family are very proud of Colin. I am wishing him all the best in the future.

Debra, the Alocasia in post# 7862374 is Cuprea and I am sure you will find a great spot for that Pinellia plant from your friend. The plant that you call king war appear's to be that of a Colocasia;-)

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Thanks Rachel, then I must contact my guy I got it from, seems he sent me something I thought I was getting but didn't know any better back then.. He also sent me this Black Nigra Holly Hock, but it isn't Black, and my DH just laffed at me today when I told him the tag said black alcea holly hock..
