I was lucky to find this with a bloom.. it was on the clearance rack at the grocery store, I couldn't let it just dry up and die..

RachelLF, your Pinellia is a surprise, I have never seen them anywhere before. You always find the coolest plants.
I do have that Aocasia, but will have to get back to you with a name. Truetropical will be home tomorrow and I want to be positive with the ID.

lovetropics, that is a garter snake, I really do not want it in the pond as it will eat all my fish. The boy next door is trying to catch it for a pet.

pensacolagarden, it is good to see you!! Those little papaya trees will grow very fast.

joeswife, you must be getting a lot of rain, everything is getting so big. The little powderpuff tree has a bloom already, and your oxalis, wandering jew combo. pot is very pretty. Love the voodoo lily and the caladium, mine are just now begining to show a little color.

aloysia gratissima(sp?) is native to our desert. Has flowers that smell like combination of vanilla and almond for about 9 months out of the year.

or this? It is thick leaved and right smack next to a brug seedling I put in, and just noticed it today while pulling trees out of the gardens. I have to remember I scattered two packets all over, but one was Lazlos Mystery mix and the other was wild flowers from buffalo.. *sigh* I am badd

sorry joeswife. I don't know the ID of those plants.
take a look at this cactus in our subdivision. I think it is very comical.

lovetropics, I love the pretty blue-violet water lily(Tina). I did a little reading and found out that it is Tropical and will need winter protection. Most flowers in my pond are pink. A little blue would surely spice things up a bit.

That cactus picture is very funny, it seems as if it might start singing and dancing.

joeswife, I truly wish I could impress you by knowing the name of your plant growing on your west front border, but I haven't a clue. (I did impress my mom once, after she checked her plant book) lol
I am jealous of your variegated tapicoa, mine died but I will find another, they are fun to grow.

This is my favorite cladium Florida beauty. Out of 25 planted last year, I have this one left, only because it is in a hanging basket. The others rotted in the flood we had last winter. (I am now taking donations) just kidding

I left two of these variegated ginger plants out on the south side of my house last winter. They came back and are about a foot tall. This one was kept in a GH.

Prita--I love your lotus. What is that bush with yellow flowers you have. It looks like it has fragrance :)

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

yellow orchid vine--has orchid like blooms in summer. Seed pods look like green butterflies in winter months. Year round interest for us.

I had forgotten about how beautiful AZ is. I lived in Scottsdale for a year and alf when I was in my 20's. I went back about 7 years ago for a month on business and couldn't believe how different it was. I love that yellow orchid vine.
Rita I love your lotus too..I hope my gingers hurry up and look as good as yours..
Last year I had a big EE out back, I dug it up.. it is in another location, while I was trimming the overhang along the fence I found three pups.. they survived our winter!
I loved the catus picture.. looks like he is a butler carrying a tray of flowers..

lovetropics, thanks for nudging my memory on the 'Jerusalem Sage'.

The plant with the yellow flowers is a Dwarf Mussaenda 'White Wing'. I did not notice any fragrance.
Those were very interesting pictures, I do agree on the yellow butterfly orchid vine, they are great plants!!

joeswife, I love those Colocasias. I transplanted a few of mine a couple of days ago and their leaves all shriveled up. I hope they bounce back.
It is such a good feeling to find a plant that was not supposed to come back, doing well. It just makes my day!!

Rita, the two latest Anthuriums that you posted pictures of are very nice but that A. Cordatum is stunning to view. You have one of the nicest collections of Aroids lady and no worries over that Alocasia that I asked you about. I found my note on it.

Thanks to Steve Lucas for giving me a correct I.D. after I purchased this as Panduriforme.

Philodendron Bipennifolium.
