Very pretty, Mrs_Ed.
What type of Catmint do you have? I just got some Walker's Low cause it's supposed to be a good one, but it's another one of those plants that are still sitting in pots.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Yay Congratulation Marna and lily. Marna nice flowers, I'm attracted to them too. I don't see why they wouldn't want to stay.

I am told that the one I have is Walker's Low (got it from my Mom). I would NEVER be without it because it does so well and blooms so long. My butterflies love it too. Easily divided too. This plant is 4 foot wide right now though, so I should have split it.

This is a nice time to work on our hummingbirds heaven, indeed. I'm seeing mine more often now, they even checked out my Larkspurs this morning and touring the backyard as well.

Yours looks just beautiful, Mrs_Ed! I can only hope mine eventually looks that good.

Very lush-looking, Lily. I bet you get a lot of activity.

PERTH, Australia

I'm so happy for both of you, Mrs Ed and lily_love. You both have enviable gardens, too.

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

This was taken a few evenings ago. He kept going back and forth to the feeder, then a limb in front of me, as if to pose. It was really entertaining.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I'm late.....YAY Mrs. Ed!!! I sure hope she stays!!

I planted that nepta when we first moved here. But all the cats took to coming over and laying in the middle of the darn thing so I ripped it out finally. I do miss it!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL. well that IS a problem! I have wild cat mint outside the fence line, that suffices for the cats. That reminds me of a time when I worked at a garden center and we had some 4" pots of that for sale. We'd come to work in the morning and find the plants all smashed from cats that had been in overnight!

Well, sad to say that I did not see the HB all yesterday.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I saw a male, I was standing right there under the feeder. He visited, and didn't seem to mind me one i-o-da bit for a second or two. That's the closest I have ever been to one. Ofcourse, I've seen pix on youtube where people feed these lovelies right at arm-length.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

If you sit really still and hold the feeder they will come in to feed. It is VERY COOL!

This is from 2007. I am holding the feeder & taking the photo! lol

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

Great pics everyone!!! Lucky you Nan :D
Our female hummer was here from the 18th through the 21st...we haven't seen her since. Oh well, on the up-side, she stayed 2 days longer than the male we had migrate through last Spring. We still miss her :(

Lincoln, NE(Zone 5b)

We had a visit by a female hummer today! She never came to any of our feeders, and was only at the honeysuckle once. She didn't have a nest mark like the other one did and this was the only pic I was able to capture. She was just here for a sip before moving on I guess. It's terribly fuzzy, but at least I can put it on record that it's our 2nd hummer this Spring! :D

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

Wow, so many pics & posts in the last couple of days.

Thanks Mrs_Ed for the Nepeta info. Hopefully the hummers will enjoy all the new perennials I bought just for them (well, for us, too). That pic from the old thread is just so, so sweet!

Wonderful shots, burn!

Very nice, Mike!

Darling "branch" shot, Burd! We have a young River Birch with a dead branch that we refuse to remove because It's a favorite of the hummers & other birds.

Really cool, Lily!

Amazing that not just one, but two hummers (more?) rewarded your patience, nanny! Plus, a one-handed shot to boot!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

I finally got a pretty capture of my hummingbird. I saw two females the other day, so I put up a second feeder so they won't have to fight one another. Guess what? They still fight. lol

LOL,Of course!! Good one Lily!

Algonquin, IL(Zone 5a)

Nice pic, Lily!

I was standing in front of one of my flower beds this afternoon - a plant in one hand & a shovel in the other - about a foot away from some Dichelostemma Ida-Maia, when a male hummer decided to have a few sips. He couldn't care less that I was there as he went from one bloom to the next. Too bad I didn't have a third hand for a camera!

It's especially cool because I planted ten of these bulbs last October specifically for the hummers & they're blooming like crazy right now. Guess I'm going to have to buy more. For any of you that aren't familiar with this unusual plant, here is the Plant Files link:

I got mine from Brent & Becky's.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)
