This bloomed today, Wendy's Wish Salvia. I'm going to love it when it is all nice and big!
2010 Ruby throated Hummingbird Vol.3
Very pretty, Mrs_Ed.
What type of Catmint do you have? I just got some Walker's Low cause it's supposed to be a good one, but it's another one of those plants that are still sitting in pots.
Yay Congratulation Marna and lily. Marna nice flowers, I'm attracted to them too. I don't see why they wouldn't want to stay.
Yours looks just beautiful, Mrs_Ed! I can only hope mine eventually looks that good.
Very lush-looking, Lily. I bet you get a lot of activity.
I'm so happy for both of you, Mrs Ed and lily_love. You both have enviable gardens, too.
Thanks Margaret, Burn that is such a sweet, sweet one!
Mike, that's beautiful!
Thank you!
Good ones burn, Mike and Burd!
I'm late.....YAY Mrs. Ed!!! I sure hope she stays!!
I planted that nepta when we first moved here. But all the cats took to coming over and laying in the middle of the darn thing so I ripped it out finally. I do miss it!
LOL. well that IS a problem! I have wild cat mint outside the fence line, that suffices for the cats. That reminds me of a time when I worked at a garden center and we had some 4" pots of that for sale. We'd come to work in the morning and find the plants all smashed from cats that had been in overnight!
Well, sad to say that I did not see the HB all yesterday.
I saw a male, I was standing right there under the feeder. He visited, and didn't seem to mind me one i-o-da bit for a second or two. That's the closest I have ever been to one. Ofcourse, I've seen pix on youtube where people feed these lovelies right at arm-length.
Okay Nan. There goes my morning -- tomorrow. I'll try to mimmic that. lol. VERY COOL!!!
Really great photos everyone ,I have yet to take a photo of a hummer this yr ,Id better get busy
I was getting ready to take a picture of a hummer but a car went by and scared the little guy away! grr.
Erin
Oh darn! Well he'll be back.
I always love to share this post from an old thread…

That is so cute!!! Thanks for posting the link Mrs Ed!
you're welcome. look at how tiny those feet are! sigh.
Mrs Ed.....Now that is "cool"!!
That's way too cool! Thanks for sharing.
Great pics everyone!!! Lucky you Nan :D
Our female hummer was here from the 18th through the 21st...we haven't seen her since. Oh well, on the up-side, she stayed 2 days longer than the male we had migrate through last Spring. We still miss her :(
We had a visit by a female hummer today! She never came to any of our feeders, and was only at the honeysuckle once. She didn't have a nest mark like the other one did and this was the only pic I was able to capture. She was just here for a sip before moving on I guess. It's terribly fuzzy, but at least I can put it on record that it's our 2nd hummer this Spring! :D
Very nice!!
Mrs_Ed thats way cool ,thanks.I wanna do that,Iam gonna do that !!!!
Wow, so many pics & posts in the last couple of days.
Thanks Mrs_Ed for the Nepeta info. Hopefully the hummers will enjoy all the new perennials I bought just for them (well, for us, too). That pic from the old thread is just so, so sweet!
Wonderful shots, burn!
Very nice, Mike!
Darling "branch" shot, Burd! We have a young River Birch with a dead branch that we refuse to remove because It's a favorite of the hummers & other birds.
Really cool, Lily!
Amazing that not just one, but two hummers (more?) rewarded your patience, nanny! Plus, a one-handed shot to boot!
LOL,Of course!! Good one Lily!
Nice pic, Lily!
I was standing in front of one of my flower beds this afternoon - a plant in one hand & a shovel in the other - about a foot away from some Dichelostemma Ida-Maia, when a male hummer decided to have a few sips. He couldn't care less that I was there as he went from one bloom to the next. Too bad I didn't have a third hand for a camera!
It's especially cool because I planted ten of these bulbs last October specifically for the hummers & they're blooming like crazy right now. Guess I'm going to have to buy more. For any of you that aren't familiar with this unusual plant, here is the Plant Files link:

I got mine from Brent & Becky's.
That's one interesting looking 'firecracker' there N.A.N.
pretty cool! I guess that's ANOTHER one I'll have to add, LOL.
As I was stepping out of the screened porch,I found this guy face to face with 1 of my cats, eekkk, copperbellied water snake came up out of the wetland I guess hunting chipmunks, they are not aggressive, followed him around a bit.Now Iam going to have the jimmies every time Iam out in the gardens now,he is 3ft long,we also had a15 lb razorback turtle here to lay eggs this monday too.
