It was raining here too. My Bullock's Oriole looked soaked.

Excellent shots duc!
That Flycatcher is beautiful and the first Bullocks looks none too happy with the weather. The second shot of the Tree Swallow is gorgeous and the Acorn Woodpeckers have such striking looks.
Those are beautiful shots Duc. Yes, the Acorn WP is very striking.
I so love those flycatchers! They're way too cute! Nice one Nan.
Good job Nanny and quick thinking!
Yes Susan, what have you collected for the nesting materials?
Lily, cute juvie you have there!
Yesterday, while washing dishes, I was looking out the window at two deer resting in the soft weed patch below our neighbor's garden when I noticed a Scrub Jay fly into a tree near them. Sure enough, it must have been the same bird I photographed in February because it flew onto one deer's back, then returned to disappear in the tree. A short time later, it reappeared and flew onto the other deer's back. Again it went into the tree. I can only assume it was picking ticks off the deer and taking them to a nearby nest.
Unfortunately, the deer were next to the fence and there was no way I could photograph them from my upper deck without including the fence.
Nature at its best is well stated! Thanks duc for sharing.
Very cool shots!
Oh GP the pix of the trio above is priceless, could quality for "Red Blue and White". Susan, the poor fledgling seems a little blue for Mama is off to the future and not nuturing her/it.
I totally agree with Lily, Gardenpom...Great capture of those 3 together!!!
Lily...I know, right! Poor thing :(
Oh duc, that's so cute of the deer. Wonder if it might also be collecting hair. I've heard of birds just plopping down on dogs and stealing some hair. Either way, VERY cute.
Wildrose, I love your green Heron, and gosling. thanks for the new thread.
All the babies are so sweet. I have a Robin building a nest. I took a little video of it,and will post it on You Tube later, and put a link here.
Got a nice surprise this morning. My crabapple is blooming it's so pretty, but it was really special, when a Cedar Waxwing position himself among the blooms.
Wow, Burn such nice capture of the Crow being chased by the Grackle. It even appears scared witless! LOL. Did you mention youtube? Here I have a clip on Juvenile House Finch being fed by Papa, 'til Mama Finch decided that she (the baby) needs to learn to fetch her own.

I loved your video of the finch Lily.
Great shots everyone!!!
Duc, That is adorable with the Jay on the Deer!!!
Lily, Cute video!
Today (Wednesday) was really too dark and overcast for taking photos but I wanted to post this one. The Starling juveniles are here and their so noisy I can't hear the chicks in the nest box over them.
One of the juveniles got completely lost from his parent that had flown away earlier. He was crying up a storm and I felt so bad for him. I see this happen a lot with them.
Pelle,
Your Starling fledglings look to be the exact same size as the one I posted a few hours ago! :D
Thanks Burn and everyone. I'm glad you've enjoyed my HF episode video. lol. May is a wonderful time of year to watch those fledglings/goslings. Nice pix Pelle.
A pair of Canadian Geese with two goslings just passed me by as I type.... beautiful and seren a view.
Carolina Wren's taking a break from feeding her/his young. The chick fledged last week.
Beautiful CW burn!
I just can't get that happy about Starling juvies!! LOL
OH OH OH......I was sitting out back with my first cup of coffee this morning and saw a Cooper's Hawk dive into the shrub where the HOSP roost. They already have fledglings that they are bringing to the feeders. I counted 13 on the ground at one point yesterday. :(
Not good for the Blue Birds....
GP I liked the photo of the three birds. Those jays sure are pretty too.
Susan that starling baby is just precious.
Mrs Ed, you might be right about my jay collecting hair off the deer. Thanks!
Burn, your pictures of the waxwing and blooms is just gorgeous! Great job catching the grackle and crow.
Pelle, your little ones are so cute too. I bet it's hard to watch when one wanders off. I had a baby sparrow fall out of one of my birdhouses and it really hurt to have to bury it.
Lily, hope we get to see more pictures of your wrens.
Nanny, cute bb photo. You sure have a bunch of HOSP!
This Mourning Dove looked so blue in the sun.
