Some kind of tea rose. The bloom is easily six inches across.
Thanks Allison, Betty Boop is pretty and black spotty all thru the season.
Singapore has been flowering non stop from last summer. I keep it in the sunroom for the winter.

Thanks to all for the invitation to this thread - not much to show now, but hopefully within a month or two, I can step up to the plate. Everything posted has been lovely, and everyone so friendly.

I take it you moved back to Albany after leaving for a while, Sandra??

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I don't think so Victor.
Actually we look at houses all the time, just would have to be perfect to buy.
Ours has been paid off for 20 years, so it gives us a kind of freedom to do all kinds of things.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - good for you guys. The problem is selling the one you have.

Albany (again), NY(Zone 5b)

Hello there Victor!

Ah, yes - I had not realized I had the location listed as such - time flies.

A brief intro - I lived in Albany from 1999-2004 (and was VERY active in DG - hosting co-ops, a RU in Cooperstown, trades galore) and then moved to Ireland on work assignment from 2004-2006 (went dormant), returned in May 2006. Along comes my daughter in mid-2008 and finally getting the garden sorted out. We're in Albany, middle of the city - and trying to make the garden something for everyone to enjoy!

I have a blah garden right now - lots of green, little color. No complaints - all the more reason to enjoy when the lilies bloom. But, definitely amenable to a bit more color if I can find it.

On a good note, I'm also diving into a few fruits and veggies - two dwarf peach trees planted last year have tiny olive-sized peaches, strawberries are showing blossoms and the asparagus gave us a few meals.

I've yet to put in my raised beds for veggies. More plans and dreams than time! :) Look forward to getting to know people on this forum - esp. with the targeted zone and region.

Welcome Sandra!

Speaking of selling houses, there is a house for sale on my walking route that the garden is way overgrown with weeds everywhere and vines growing up through shrubs and sticking out in odd places. I so want to knock on their door and say if they want to sell the house they need to clean up the garden!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well, welcome back, Sandra! Congrats on your daughter too. How did you like Ireland? Look forward to visiting one day. Wonderful growing edibles.

Funny, Deb! Maybe they can hire you to give it some appeal.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Ireland would be my dream vacation if I wasn't afriad to fly overseas.

South Hamilton, MA

Especially with flight canceled again becasue of the volcano. Wait until it stops he he.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Deb when Randy and I were shopping for this house.. we were shocked at some of the front and back yards.. and we didn't even garden then

Hi Victor!

I think my gardens currently looks like an analogy to the shoemakers kids going without shoes, so I'm not showing pictures myself, but enjoying all yours.
