Here's one of my Anna's enjoying a bath.

A dip to check the temperature.

"Isn't it a bit cold for this time of year?"

"Oh well, it does feel good."

I missed on the timing, but she dipped into the water. (Took these from the 2nd floor deck.)

"Ah, that feels good."

Breaking news from Dahlianut's garden. A male anna (probably a scout) was seen at the feeder approximately one hour ago. He sipped from two stations and whirred away. End of report.

OMG I burst into tears cuz today is my birthday!!!
ps My true luv has been chortling about my giant red bow. Now he says " We need more red bows" I'm SO excited! I'm hoping that the females will come to visit on their way through to the mountain nesting spots now. I NEED MORE GIANT RED BOWS!!!

Dahlia, sorry to be late, but congratulations on the hummer arrival. Hope he keeps coming so we can see pictures!

This Anna's arrived for an early shower the other day. Unfortunately the sun wasn't cooperating yet.

Someone mentioned they thought one of their hummers was pregnant. That's what I always think when I see this little girl.

The sun came out for a short time yesterday and the tree leaves made a pretty background.

How exciting duc! She DOES look like she is with egg!

Great hummingbird photos. If my computer was working correctly, instead of making 100s of copies I would send a couple but just too provoking to try to find a photo after I down load. My daughter is coming from VA to spend a couple of weeks for my birthday. We will be sightseeing in Oregon for a week or so. I probably won't be on the computer very many times.

Still not seeing the large numbers of hummers we have every year, but I did get one new Rufous. He seems pretty young and very afraid of me, but he'll come around soon-I hope.

This female Anna's was trying to keep warm this morning.

This is one of my regular Anna's males. I always look for this guy every year. He's got a larger bill and is never afraid of me when I approach.

He is constantly attacking any approaching hummer and always claims this feeder as his own.

I'm still only counting 4 Anna's Hummingbirds when I normally see between 25-30 at this time of year-such a disappointment and I just hope they're safe.

The good news is that my blooms are being enjoyed by the birds.
