Thank you to all who are visiting Italy with us.
Wednesday morning we awoke with some excitement.
For this day we will be venturing off to the Country!
So we had a bit of breakfast and took our luggage back to the car nice and early.
As we walked back to the Duomo, we chattered about all that we had seen in Florence.
We arrived to the Cathedral and anticipated the views from the top.
And so our ascent has begun...This was about a third of the way up.
I Got you Babe, ...part 2.
^_^ thanks.
Got my chair parked.
Wow Seed! What a trip huh! The pictures were just beautiful. I have to live the trip through you...probably will never make it to Italy. So glad you and your DH can share so many lovely memories of your anniversary...and what a gift by the way. Hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day as well. If yall decide to do any more jet setting....keep the pics. coming so we can enjoy!
Verry cool!
How many flight of stairs, Judy?
I can't even manage one..
OK...This is the last of the stair well.
This man was taking pictures of the staircase too...
LOL, He took my picture. Of course i had to pose while he focused.
Smiling up a storm, with hands spread out in sheer delight that our climb was just about finished!
We all laughed and continued on.
Are you getting anxious??
Thank Heavens, there are lights to illuminate your way to the top!!
By the way, while watching the show.. Liz.. if you'r lurking.. I'm snacking on my lemon chutney.
Too many steps!! And I'm supposed to visit my sister in Nice. She says to be prepared if we have to take a bus from her home when sightseeing.. in case hubby has the van. There are 350 steps to maneuver from the top of the hill (where she's at) to the bus stop!!
Think I'll faint now!
Firenze roof tops.. brown..
Got to share this funny bit, sistah Judy. When I was in Amsterdam, looking out from my hotel room.. about the 15th floor. All I see was red roof tops..
As to noticing you have lights.. aeons ago, during my first visit to the pyramids, there was only this one 60 watt bulb to throw light into one of the pyramids. I was the only one in the group tour to carry a flashlight.
And we only had a rope guide to ensure our foothold!! Too funny!!
Sorry.. do continue.. armchair travelling is cheaper and safer.
Ahhh!! I see on green rooftop and the hills beyond.. so beautiful!!!
Yayyy.. and not out of breath!!
Wonderful Steve.. shows you and Judy are very healthy!!
Still it's nice to see terracotta tiled roofs.
Hehehehe.. nowadays I don't think you'll have much discomfort touring the inside of a pyramid. I do hope those unlicensed 'tour guides' hovering outside for a prey are gone too.
Italy thanks to you Judy. Maybe I could hit Florence after Nice.
That is BREATHTAKINGLY Beautiful!!!!
what people?
Thought they were cats.. ain't that a catwalk?
Lolol...
got to go sistah Judy. Time for my behind to get going.
Love ya. And thanks.. I'll be back.
Love ya right back Sistah! see you later, enjoy the afternoon.
OMG, I have to go get ready for a baseball game!
Cubs vs. Marlins! So watch for me on tv, we are in the bleachers, heheh
they always televise the bleacher section, and I'll be waiving at ya Marion, and all, lol.
Before I go here is an even closer picture of the Dome!!
Our legs were wrobbling by the time we got back to the ground! lolol.
...
Now buckle up everyone, we travel by car to our next destination. Bucine, Italy.
We can rest for the next 1.5 hours it take to get there.
...or yikes i should say hang on for dear life, we're hitting the crazy roads again.
See you in Bucine,
Chow
Seed this would certainly make for a smashing good gypsie trip. As you know we go to lots of places in our imaginations...and get into all sorts of fun jams. There is some beautiful scenery in your pictures as well as the architecture....come to see us when ya can girl..ya know where we are!
Oh Judy, am falling in love with the country...ooooh maybe I could paint my ceiling with similar pattern and with my cafe already set up I could THINK I'm there...lol
bump (so I don't miss anything..... :)
Betty, I'll be doing Paint By Numbers!! ROF!!
Hope you got some good news at the doctor's.

((((((((((((((Liz)))))))))))))
Thanks so much for inviting us along on your trip, Judy....it was totally AWESOME!
Ahhhh, Italy take me away.
So sorry to interrupt my story. Life has been crazy busy and now with the long weekend, I am off again to Wisconsin!
But I thought We all could take a break away from it all and return to the country.
Dixie, you bet we gypsies would have loads of fun on a trekk throughout Europe!
Hey Sistah Joyce! So glad you came on the Journey too.
Waiving hi to all and Benvenuti (warm welcome) to Castellino Bucine!
Armed with the GPS and the written directions we received from the owners, we arrived without too much incident...Only a slight detour on our part as we typed in the wrong spelling so the Thelma took us to a different location! We were so boggled as the place did not look like the castle in the photo. So we had to regroup on what was up with that. Finally, when all else failed we re-read the owners directions! Had to laugh at ourselves and reset Thelma with the correct information and again on the right road. According to Owners directions, we would come to a Church right in front of us, which we never did see. Although, we had just missed the only day of Market in town. They were busily packing things up, while we drove trying to find the castle. Thelma had said we have arrived so where the heck was it? LOL We kept driving in Circles then finally asked some men sitting out having a chat. Steve took his handy dandy words of survival, asked the man if he knew where this address was, showed him the meet and greet lady's phone #, well what a delightful help, he then whips out his cell phone and calls her for us. She tells the man she will be right up, As she is saying this I happened to look up myself and see the words ...Castellino! OMG we had driven up and down that same very steep and majorly skinny road several times. So again We offer our Gratsi to the man and make the drive back up the steep and skinny road, We still do not see the entrance so we decide to park in the parking lot and hike back to look for the #'s of the houses. Ahhh, success, we found it! So we look for the hidden key and couldn't find that! LOL, we were just batting a thousand, just then the lady came. Speaking very tiny amount of English, sigh.
She opened the door turning the key 5 times!! We looked at each other with giggling eyes and went in and up.
The lady, showed us everything and handed us the keys in trade for the rest of the rental fee and big us a good time.
The Castellino was built in 1537, It was beautiful!!
We, had cruised around the website to locate it. Steve had chosen the area and told me to pick a place.
I really loved the photo the owners had and the view was divine. We were thrilled to have found it was ours for the rest of the week.
As we walked through the door right into the kitchen. On the table was a candle and a nice bottle of wine to welcome us.
