Euonymus identification

Lincoln, CA(Zone 9b)

When our house was built the developer planted Euonymus in our front yard. Unfortunately, that was the only identification given to them. They are shrub form and about 4 foot tall. The leaves are glossy around 3 inches long.

From looking at pictures on the Internet, my guess is that it is a Purple wintercreeper, variety fortunei 'Greenlane

Right now I'm trying to find out about pruning them. The branches has grown quite long and they look healthy. But they are a little large. It is now May and we live in Northern California.

In the picture, ignore the pink flowers (that's from the Oleander in the background)

Reminds me of Euonymus fortunei 'Coloratus' http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/66847/

growin...you are right! It does look like "Coloratus but it definitely is not a ground cover. It is a four foot tall shrub and does not spread. Can the "Coloratus grow the way mine do?

I can't say I've seen it grow so high. Then again I've only seen it in containers at the nursery.
