Hack, so happy to hear your lens made the fall without breakage. I bet your heart just fell to your feet. Great job with your birds. I'm glad to hear the goldfinches like your sunflower seeds. The price of thistle seed is outrageous here.

Lily, cute little wren. What a pretty heron. But, what is that white guy that's wandering around. He's got an unusual face?

Burn, I love your oriole. He sure is a beautiful dark orange. Wonder if that means they're older? I've noticed a couple of my Bullock's are turning that darker color too.

Borders, thanks for answering my question. That alligator sure looks scarey!

Red, that bunting is such a brilliant color. Wowsers! Your goldfinches are beautiful too.

It seems I'm getting more and more Ash-throated Flycatchers here.

I think this is another one, but I'm not sure.

Well I've almost missed this one. I can't believe it. Impossible to comment on all, but I'm loving the variety that spring has brought us.

Mother's day means a trip to my Mom's where there are many more birds and lots of country roads to drive through on the way there. There's one section of road I always go very slow on because I find so many birds. Yesterday's big find were Eastern Kingbirds. Though not in a flock necessarily, they were everywhere. I must have counted a dozen on this road.

Oddly, mixed in was a Western Kingbird, a bit out of range. I've seen these before in Mexico, but never here.

Wonderful pictures everyone. Yes, Hack, the Conqueror is a more appropriate name for that duck--especially since he has two ladies at his beck and call, or beek and quack!! (Groan)

Question, is this a young catbird?

Savanna Sparrow as IDed on the ID forum…

This bird is a first for me.

Sorry Mrs. Ed. Cross-posted. If you would like some Eastern Kingbirds, I'll be happy to ship some off to you!

Duc, sorry I don't know what kind of duck that 'unusual' looking face fella is. Hopefully someone here will help us out? Whoa! Savanna Sparrow! What a cute little fella. How lucky can someone get to be able to see both Eastern and Western Kingbirds, Marna. Cute little set up with the jelly feeder and fruits. Beautiful Orioles!

Cramlington, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

I think the white duck is a Muscovy.

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Thanks Kniphofia.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Thanks Lily and Knip. I'll look that one up.

Mrs. Ed, beautiful Kingbird!! Not fair! Every year I try, but my Orioles won't touch the oranges or the jelly

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Hey GG, yah, with that rusty rump, I'd say that was a cat bird.

Thanks LilyLove, you know, too bad this picture was so bad, because I got Both Eastern and Western on a fence. And you want to know what is funny? The western is sitting west of the eastern in this pix.

House Finch sharing the feeder with Redbellied Woodpecker, pix taken yesterday. Woohoo, I see two RD WPs coming to the feeder today as I type.

Is this some sort of mating ritual?

Sorry, wrong thread......

Since they're both males (Boat-tailed Grackles, in GA), more likely a territorial dispute. But can't rule out the possibility of a Civil Partnership ;-)
