Wonderful shots borders!!! I love the Black-crowned Night Heron and the Anhinga. The baby Egrets are so adorable and the Heron posing is great!

Wow, Pelle, 55mph! That's pretty stout! It has been so windy here too but not anywhere near. I hope your day faired well.

I'm so tickled I was following these 3 House Finches. First I thought there were the usual 'song and dance' of the mating couple. But, it turned out; it was Papa feeding his young. For the Moma was right beside them coaxing/encouraging the 'kid' to get to the feeder instead. What a sweet experience to have.

*Note; the female on the left. It has got to be the the fledgling. Notice its under-developed tail compared to Mom's on the right. (I picked this up since I've watched enough of BB's and others fledlings pix on our forum -- thanks all for sharing your pics. and experiences).

That first pic by bordersandjacks is begging for a caption! Here is the youngest Mockingbird baby. I think they must have had 4 chicks, all seem to have made it fine.

Very nice adel!

My six bluebird babies fledged earlier this week and one had trouble flying, so today I went into the woods, looking for them. I found them up in a tulip poplar tree but I only found five. In this shot of Mama feeding them, the fifth is by himself to the right. You can only see his tail feathers.

The Great Blue Herons fly low over our house as they travel from the river to their nesting area. This one was not more than 50 feet from me, so I had to snap his picture.

Backyard bully. Just built a nest not 15 feet from the bluebird nest box and now won't let the bluebirds near their own house!

The tufted titmice are back, making repeated trips for meal worms to take to their babies.

Rose, what a beautiful start to the thread. I love your Sparrows and Swallow and the Woodpecker and that gorgeous little baby Bluebird, but the Goldfinch is perfect.

GP, I'm glad all the Mockingbird bubs made it.

Red, the shots of the Woodpecker fledgling are precious.

Pelle, they are beautiful shots of the Titmouse.

Lovely Oriole, Adelbertcat.

Borders, what a treat to be able to see an Egret Rookery. Nice shots of the Heron. Funny seeing the GBH on the statue.

Lily, Mr Lincoln is a very fine bird.

Duc, I still can't get over how you're able to take photos of Bald Eagles from your deck. The Flycatcher looks like it's looking at something down that pipe. I wonder if it can see a spider (or a fly).

Dave, I'm so sorry that the 5th one appears not to have made it.

PERTH, Australia

Oh, Dave, that's precious.

Melbourne, FL

That is so neat how the bluebird babies always seem to stay together. Hope the sixth one is OK, but five is amazing. The Mockingbirds were run ragged heading off in all directions to take care of their youngsters.

Columbia City, IN(Zone 5b)

After the windstorm last night, it is so relaxing to start the day viewing all of the wonderful pictures on the Forum. They are all fantastic. Keep 'em coming.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

We happend to be outside yesterday when a female Pileated came in and ate at the suet. Didn't get any pics of her. About 30 minutes later this male came along that I did get 2 bad pics of. It was very cold & overcast yesterday. We had another visit in the evening by a male.

Mama Hairy WP brought the youngun back again today, but to the front seed feeder. The youngun couldn't quite figure it out, so Mama went down and fed him.
