Good grief! That sure is a big diaper! LOL. Wonderful pics. Pelle.
My Little Chickadee's Pt. 2
Those babies must be getting big!! Love this series Pelle!!
Oh Pelle, how sweet is that? Great timing!
Awwwwwwwww...Love it!!!
whoa. it's as big as his head.
What a treat! Bless his heart...nothing but the best for his little lady :D
I enjoy your every day updates from the nest. They must be ready to fledged any day now. I'm happy to see nothing happen with the visit of the HS. So glad you were around to scare them away.
At first I though Dad was delivering flowers for Mom...
You really capturing some great moments!
What a cute pair. Can't wait to see the babies.
When's the expected fledge date?
I have absolutely no idea. It was april 25th when I opened the box and the Mother refused to move,so I assume there were eggs then.
sounds like it might be time if behaviors are changing. Plus, those diapers are HUGE.
I'm hoping it will be this weekend. Fingers crossed. :-)
What a great set of pictures, Pelle. I am happy to report that my Chickadees have showed up with their fledglings! They really work the peanut suet to feed the babies. The tree with the suet is alive with chatter and busy little flitting birds. I love it. My fingers are crossed for you. I find it surprising how close in time our Chickadees are fledging, considering how much farther south I am. Mine appeared 5-7 days ago.
Hi gazer, Thank you. Congratulations on your Chickadee family! I'm hoping when they fledge they'll take them away from here because of all the Grackles that come into the yard. If they come back later when the kids are street smart that would be great. Here is one of the parents at a suet feeder that has hot pepper suet. We have a lot of squirrels here so thats the only type I can put in the trees.
Oh and yes Mrs Ed those diapers are big. I can see the weight of them affects the way the parents are flying!

Pelle, how can one tell which is Ma and which is Papa Dees? Please.
I can't tell most of the time but I figure that the laid back one that doesn't mind being photographed has to be a male. :-)
I don't believe there is a way to tell them apart but I'll check.
Yes no difference between sexes.

Oh priceless!
Darling shot Pelle!
awww
He is adorable and such a good Husband and Dad. I watched him fly up 3 times in a row with food and fly out all 3 times with dirty diapers! Can ask for more than that from your man. :-)
Yep.
:D
Well my couple is babyless, and he still is feeding her. It's so darned cute!
These birds are really smart too. I placed a new feeder in a different location. Apparently my Dees has ear marked it. So, this evening I moved the feeder yet to another location, the dees came back to the previous spot to look for the feeder. The cutie was but few feet away from me working in the garden. I felt so bad that I've moved it. Your couple is most darling Pelle.
Aw that is really sweet Mrs Ed!
They sure are smart Lily!
I am fortunate that I don't have any House Sparrows or Grackles. The Chicks seem to be thriving in this environment. I never got a head count on the # if babies, but I would guess 3-5. Can't wait to see yur pics, Pelle.
