The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the new thread Pati...very nice Grackle shots!

You all are working fast and furious posting your beautiful birds and I am enjoying seeing them all!

I will have to start my own thread to play catch up with all my pics. Have a nice day everyone!

Mount Pleasant Mills, PA(Zone 5a)

Gosh! There is just no way to keep up with these threads! Beautiful pictures. Wish I would see a white crowned sparrow--it is beautiful.

Melbourne, FL

Glad you caught that, Hack. I was thinking Woodpecker and typed Mockingbird. Old age will do that to you!

Marlton, NJ

Very nice pics Burd! Love the Flicker pair!

Heavens..... well too many to comment but I am enjoying them all!

A pair of Robins...I didn't even see the one outside the fence until it was on the computer!

This is one fast moving thread. Burn, the Finch that was on the rooftop of the birdhouse, did you hand it some suntan lotion. It was sun bathing! lol.
Nan, I like the 'hair do' on your Robins pair. lol. Burd, whatever a Southerner likes the Northern Flicker doing nesting up North? (Alabama's State bird). On the topic of Mr. Cooper. At least he's picking/chasing his own size. (as appose to chasing our hapless little songbirds). lol.
Pelle, the male American Goldfinches are so bright whe need to wear shade to look at them. lol

One gotta love these Mockingbirds. I love them too. One of my close up of the bird.

Hi Lily_love - now that you remind me, I do remember reading of Mizzy, the Red-bellied Woodpecker.

burn_2007 - that is one sharp looking White-crowned Sparrow! I love the crown.

gardenpom - I know it was just a senior moment that had you think Wp and type M-bird. 'Course, I've never had one of those. :-)))

pelletory - Your Goldfinch is richly colored. Great snap.

nanny_56 - I have lots of Robins, too. Its always fun to see a "ghost" bird in a pic I took.

JulieQ - Its nice to know that Rose Breasted Grosbeaks are with you. Maybe I'll seen some soon. I have a folder set up from last year, so I know I saw some on '09. But it is empty for '10.

Hack

Columbus, GA(Zone 8a)

Look at this poor, pitiful Brown Thrasher soaked to the bone. I snapped the pic yesterday just after a heavy rain.

It's still very wet and unseasonably cold here, but the thickets at the creek sure have been busy! Here's a beautiful Yellow Warbler that gifted me with his presence yesterday.

I love all the contributions you folks are sharing on the BW forum. I'm sorry I don't have time to comment more, but when I'm not snapping photos, I'm working to get some order outside before the heat comes on us. Great shooting all!

These male Northern Cardinals are constantly on the go. If they're not chasing one another, they will chase their mates. Here is one taking his little break and looking pretty-- like those of your Tree Swallows Adel. :))

I got behind in the garden chores and now that's gotten me behind here too. All the photos are wonderful-so many pretty birds.

This Brown headed Cowbird has been chasing a female around here for a couple days. He loves to show off and puff out for her but so far she just leaves him sitting there.

This Calif. Towhee was taking a break from the mating game. It fun to watch them chase each other along the length of the deck and then back again, all the while flapping their wings.

There have been just 3 White Pelicans in our area for about a week. We watched them gathering together and flapping their wings, then dipping their bills in the water to catch the fish.
