While we walked around taking in the views and the crowds, we ventured down this one street.
And with a big smile, I was happy we did, or we might not have listened to this mans music.
I Got You Babe...
Judy, Italy is so pretty. And yes the streetsare narrow in most of Europe. Most of the time one way, but when it goes both ways, and your on the side walk, you better find a door way to step into, cause the cars will pass each other on the sidewalk!
I have to ask what a Berria is?
So glad you finally got a room. Geesh that must have b een scary to find out your motel was all locked up!
Oh I totally agree with you Linda Kay, Italy is very pretty, and I am so happy to have seen it.
It was fun to see it in the early Spring and literally watch it bloom.
hahha, the narrow streets was a little eye opener for us, lol, yep I did have to jump away from not only cars but bikes as well! Florence was very busy. We were really thrilled to see all the little matchbox cars manuver around.
thanks about the scarey hotel, we didn't waste much time going to the other, it was a great relief when they had rooms.
Berria is Italian Beer! As you all know, I do love beer. It was really a nice change of taste and I am kind of missing it.
I just read from beginning to end. What a wonderful trip. I'm so happy you were able to take it. You both look so very happy...Congratulations on your 25th...
Judy, they make so many wonderful beers over there. Check with a liquor store, sometimes they can order some of the imported beers.
Seeds, what a wonderful trip! I agree with everyone, the love you and Steve share comes through in your writing.
I hope you have more stories and pictures to share, it's such a wonderful narration, I too feel like I stole away in your pocket.
LOL at the Betty shop Judy...must be one in every port..think you Liz and I took a photo as well on our day out in Illinois ... wish I had me one of those pink trucks, you know me, could fill it in seconds..
As I've never tasted a beer I'd have to opt out and have a glass of wine...
Love the photo's..look forward to more..
Just a note for ya Seed....Miller Brewing company is now offering Peroni Nasto Azzuro Italian beer for sale in the US. It is a light crisp lager with a low sugar content.
You mean she didn't have to go to Italy after all ??? lol
And how's the weather in your area, didn't hear on the news this morning how the oil spill is doing? SIL Suzanne's husband called to say he wasn't going into Nashville today because of all the flooding, he'll be dropping his load off somewhere else...wow, southern states sure are taking a hit aren't they?
You would think we had done something really rude considering the situation.....grin. The scary thing is we are about 50 air miles from the coast and when the wind blows from the south we can smell the higher volatiles in the oil. I am afraid this is going to become a problem that spans generations. my heart goes out to the folks in Tennessee....no-one saw that flood coming. But, folks here are resilient....and i sincerely hope our wildlife is also.
Yup, think how much they could have saved by buying birra Peroni at home....LOL
I'm afraid my ex's relatives who are Louisianan shrimpers and fishermen will be affected. Now they have to depend on crawfish or back to work in the oil fields.
Judy, it's so funny about the Fiat!! Tell Steve that I grew up with Fiats, all the Minors and small Japanese models, and even small 'lorries'.
Imagine to my horror when I first got here and ex wanted me to drive his Dodge truck and the 75 Ninety Eight!!! It's like trying to tame the tail of a dragon!!!!!
Then I have to learn to drive on the right side!!!
If we can't go to Europe, thanks for bringing Europe to us, Judy!
Hello everyone, so sorry to be away for so long, Our routines didn't take but a wink to return to normal.
Jaye, too cute, yep we can understand the transition. LOL, you being as tiny as you are I bet you had to have pillows to sit on! giggle, giggle.
Linda Kay, I have to Thank Moon for her gentle reminder, though, I thought I was spelling it right, Beer is spelled Birra, not berria!lol, that is something different...
LOL, Ohwah, I will have to check into the imported birra Peroni! OMG, since Miller brewing is my choice of American beer, big cheesy grin that they would import Peroni, just for me, don'tchya know.
Ahhh, but I would go to Italy again, in a minute.
Betty, Steve has been drinking wine all year to enjoy Italy's wines. And I have come to enjoy wine as well.
Waiving Hi Smiley and Barb, so glad you are enjoying our journey...
Hey Cindy, LOL, I think Doug would look marvelous in the Speedo Apron, lol my Steve too. How jealous the the neighbors wife would be huh.
At this time, I also want to say Thank you all again for joining our journey. I am glad you all like the narration as well. I haven't written a story in ages. It makes me feel real good to know you feel like you were right their with us throughout the story...How wonderful you feel our love too.
I'll shout out to the world about that because, all those years ago, The world stopped for me, when I met Steve. LOL, I have my very own "Cinderella" story.
LOL, got a little sentimental there...And so goes the rest of the story.
You are adventurous Judy, now I would have thought you'd light the candle just to see the glow, or, did you have your own glow with that wine...
During one point of the day, we decided to visit the car. We were warned that cars could only be parked in certain areas.
Although we were pretty sure, thought it best to check anyway.
Along the way, We spotted this Florist! LOL, Steve stopped abruptly and I almost walked right into him as I was looking at the same florist! He wanted me to do exactly what I was thinking in taking a picture of it. LOL, I was thinking about all my friends at DG, while he was thinking about another friend. Our friends last name is Fior!
Plus, look at that lamp post! I just loved it structure.
Seed is that Il Duomo in Milan? I went there years ago, did you go to the roof? It's so nice to see these pictures and have them bring back memories!
Along the way we stopped for a sandwich. It was directly across the way from the Bargello Museum.
We had pr-ordered tickets. It was wonderful to have these pre-ordered ticket because we could walk directly in.
I am sorry to say camera's were not allowed.
Within the walls of Bargello, were works of art, both sculptures and paintings by Michelangelo, Donatello and Medici!
Oh! Take my breath away! Michelangelo is my favorite artist of all time! (besides DH of course)
That lamp post looks like it is perched on gargoyle legs....I agree Seed...pretty cool!
Smiley, No this is the Duomo in Florence.
It is a Gothic in style. Oh now I just love that it brings wonderful memories for you.
Moon, that was my way of thinking as well. I was a bit disappointed in not see more of the Gothic statues around.
LOL, Smiley, I am sure your DH's art is first. We were mesmorised by much of Michelangelo's art. Seeing it that close was purly amazing!
Just wait till We get to seeing David!!
Be still my beating heart. I know it's a novel, but I've read 'The Agony and the Ecstasy' about 15 times. Literally. Michelangelo fascinates me.
We went to an Impressionist showing while we were in Milan, it was awesome!
Judy, I just love reading about your travels...the history must have been overwhelming..know how you love 'art'
Thanks so much for sharing Seed, can't tell you how inspiring your trip has been. I can only wish you and Steve many more years of Bliss! I really feel the love that you two share GB you both.
Puff the magic flowers! hello..
I hope you enjoyed Mom Day too.
Today was very nice. I played on the computer, lol mostly adjusting photos! LOL, I was beginning to get confused where everything was...
lol Betty, I think, yep overwhelming at times, mind was spinning, just trying to remember basic words, even!!
Yep i sure did love all the art, sculptures Roflol, I kind of felt my head spinning trying to see it all! It was calming to see students sketching.
Lynnie and Smiley, LOL I keep getting you two mixed up! so sorry about that, your both just cute, I have to agree, Michelangelo is pretty spectacular.
Can't say I've read that story...hmmm, will have to look into it. We have seen a few replicas too, they are very good.
Sorry to say we weren't able to make it to Milan...I am so glad, you have good memories of Italy too.
Marion, lol you know me, always remembering back. I am so glad your here too..Gosh, I thought about you, saw lots of Ladybugs.
...one even followed me home.
Moon, omg, checked into Perone! found it too, holy mackerolies it's expensive, lol! smack, smack can't wait to taste it sometime
OK ROFLOL, Liz , I can just hear you and Kenny, get on with the pictures already...Palease.!
So with that note, how about a little window looking!
This guy was in one of the windows in Venice, I just fell in love with him,
LOL, I wondered if they would miss him if I stuffed him in my back pack!
Dang he was too big.
After the Bargello Museum, we did some more shopping.
Then it was time for our next tour of Campelle Medicee.
Another, Museum. This one had beautiful pieces in the court yard.
This building was one a goverment building. In the courtyard, you could see where the prisoners were chained
to the columns.
Judy, love the chandelier but OMG it would be a full time job just dusting it...
