Sorry...I guess I forgot to resize that last one! Here is the proud Papa!
Daily Pic Vol.311
Congrats Rose on the to-be Fledglings BBs. The Yellow Headed Blackbird is wow, unusual. This maybe 2nd time I saw pics. of them on our forum. Cool.
Elphaba, Sorry you had to witness that. I've been aware for some time that Grackles can be predatory but I'm glad not to have seen it.
Rose, SO good to see you! That Yellow-headed Blackbird is Gorgeous!!! The Bluebirds are looking great and I can't wait to see the fledges!
Adelbertcat, I'm very jealous of your front porch. What a cool assortment of birds. Love the quail.
Delrose, I just love those yellow-headed blackbirds. I hope to see one one day.
GP, congrats on the male Rose-breasted Grosbeak. He's a beauty!
Tiger, that Wilson's Warbler is just a gorgeous shot. All great photos!
Reddirtretiree, nice one. Does FOS mean first of spring? I'm so out of touch with the abbreviated world.
Nanny, nice Robins!
Rose, I'm so jealous of your Yellow-headed! I've never seen one here that wasn't buried deep in the tulies. We always describe their songs as a squeaky door hinge. I'm going to be listening for your version. Looking forward to seeing the little ones. Your parents are both just beautiful.
Red, congrats on the sighting of the Snowy-it's beautiful.
Nanny, another grumpy face there.LOL Still your robins are cute.
Whenever I'm near this one park, I always have to find my favorite Mallard lady. I just love her colors.
FOS-- First Of Season. :-)
Great shots everyone!
Adel, Nice one of the Goldfinch!
Red, Handsome Snowy Egret!
Nanny, Good looking Robins!
Duc, Love the female ducks! So glad the beautiful Tree Swallows are nesting! Good one of the Thrasher!
Beautiful pics Duc. I especially like that thrasher. Your swallow house is really cool. Nice capture of swallow popping out too.
I chased away the grackles all morning. My boy dog Wilson thought it was great fun. He's happy to chase grackles any time I lose my mind again. Finally, I put away their favorite feeder. Still coming to the pond though. Here's one of them now.
That's a beautiful pic Pelle! Great Egrets are just so great!
Hi everyone! I have had a really busy three days at work, but now I am off for the next eight days! All the beautiful photos, but I am too far behind to try to comment on each person... I'm sorry! The are all so great!
I have been anxious to work out my new lens some more, and I will now that I am off! But I wanted to share some photos my hubby took with my camera and the new lens on Tuesday! I have dragged him kicking and screaming into bird watching, but look what he can do! I am proud of him, but also a little jealous too! Well done honey!
All photos in this next series courtesy of Palmer Allen.
This first shot shows three osprey sitting in a tree, while an eagle flies by with a fish.
Elphaba, beautiful photos of the Grackle and Wren. That Summer Tanager reminds me of my orioles. Great one of the female Red-winged.
Pelle, wonderful photo of your Egret. Glad you're getting out a little.
Wild Rose, your hubby did an outstanding job with the osprey series! Hopefully he will join you in the birdwatching more often now. Hope you'll enjoy your days off.
Palmer, Great job with the shots!! I love them all especially the action shots of the Ospreys!!!
Terrific addition Pelle, the great egret is so dramatic with its eye's makeup. Wowser! Wild Rose, wonderful series, what talent Palmer has! It must be so exciting to watch those many Ospreys in one spot, let alone to add the Eagle in the mix! Thank you for sharing the wonderful experience. I'll need to refill the bird feeders out there. Back soon with some pics. at the Eagle nest we visited yesterday.
Very nice shots Burd! I really like the Chipping Sparrow.
Hard to tell, it looks like a pretty thick bill. Might be a House Finch but not 100%
