So many wonderful pictures on the previous thread, if anyone is interested to see them, follow this link. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1088804/

Went to a pond yesterday to see what might be available for the new thread, and found this couple of the Common Goldeneye duck.

Mr Hairy has a hard time getting some suet, because of the Grackles emptying it as fast as I can put it up.

Nice shots burn! Love that Hairy Woodpecker and The Common Goldeneye are such a handsome duck!

Thanks for starting the new thread!

This is how I solved my Grackle eating suet problem....red-bellied is enjoying the upside-down feeder. Squirrels still eat a little, but they are not as bad a problem as the birds were.

Thank you Burn for the new thread and the pics. of the Goldeneye ducks. I'm comparing your Hairy and my Downy and try to differentiate b/w the two species. GP, neat idea! Thank you for sharing it. I just love all these woodpeckers.

I've a different perspective on Great Blue Heron which is not often observed, what do you think?

What we saw was a GBH hitches a ride on a log afloating in the middle of the lake. And other shadowy debris is a cloud of tree pollens! Yikes!

GP, Great shot of the Red-bellied Woodpecker!!

Lily, I love that shot!

Thanks Pelle, so did I. ^_^

I saw this Swallow yesterday, Can't be sure, it could be a Purple Martin? I know of neighbors that are hosting purple martins nearby.

Nice ones Lily! Looks almost like a Tree Swallow to me.

Miss Nelly (the Redbellied Woodpecker) only chance at the feeder this morning...

...because the rest of the day, the feeder belongs to Lord Byron (the Redheaded WP) and his mate. lol.

Thank you Pelle for the Swallow I.D.

Gee, another new thread already!
So many beautiful birds in that last thread. Rockminer and Adel, add my name to that same list of birds you're now enjoying. I was wondering if either of you are also seeing the Hooded Orioles besides the Bullock's?

Elphaba, great sightings on the Orchard Oriole, Indigo Bunting and Summer Tanager!

Burn and Burd, I'm enjoying your Grackles too!!

Thank you for starting the new thread Burn. That Golden-eye really shows up. Mr. Hairy is a beauty.

Very clever GP and another beautiful photo of your Red-bellied.

Lily, great shot of the heron. Looks like a smart bird catching a ride. We're seeing that tree pollen here in our lake and in our driveway after the rain showers yesterday. It's wonderful to have so many trees but the pollen is sure making a mess on the decks and in our home. Great photos of the bbs and swallow too. Love that last photo of the red heads-wow! Bet they're exciting to see in person.

Here's one of very few Brewers Blackbirds that are still here.

We just get to see these Stellar's Jays at a distance and only for a short time.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Oops, this pair of Bullock's Orioles were a riot to watch. The one still standing didn't want the other one right next to him on a perch, but it was okay when the other one moved to the opposite side.

This is one of my pretty Hooded Orioles.

Wonderful shots Duc! Great catch on the Orioles at the feeder. The Scrub jay looks beautiful on that branch and the Tree Swallow is gorgeous!

Eurasian Collared Dove was sitting on the fence yesterday when I came back up from the creek. Only once before have I seen one here. Such a lovely bird!

A first for me. A male Red-Breasted Grosbeak. I had a female a year or so ago.

The female Red-bellied was pulling threads from the Banana leaf for her nest. A rival female was doing the same thing and it caused a few clashes.
