wha,

Loved every photo, and am impressed with the landscaping strategy used on the hillside (shown in the muscari photo).

Hills can be tricky (to terrace, or not to terrace?), and the specimen trees look terrific.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

thanks BA - that hill was all grass when we moved in - after almost taking several falls mowing it i decided to landscape it instead.

Very nice, Bill! Love the pileated pecker.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Groaaaaan I dont want to get caught in this room in my garden clothes.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Oh my goodness. What a great batch of pics from you guys. Wonderful stuff. And Bill as usual neat as a pin. Like the sedum specially since I just planted some and can't wait for it to grow up. Pretty bulbs and shrubs and trees from all. Really, really pretty.

South Hamilton, MA

Lovely garden picture, bill & I am drooling over the pilieated wp. They don'tstay still very long here.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

you are right about that lucy - this guy was at the old hickory tree for about 20 minutes - got a lot of pictures of him banging away.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

What do they eat? Can you leave something out that will bring them?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

they eat bugs in trees - carpenter ants in this case

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

They eat carpenter ants, you will find them pecking away on rotting wood

Oh, what a great photo of the pileated, Bill...I envy you....lots of nice trees & shrubs as well. Here is wallflower from the free mix of wildflower seeds I got last year...so many of the plants have reseeded.

Robin how nice that things reseed for you. Like that sunny wallflower.
JoAnn things seem to be growing well for you up there now, everything so nice and green. Like your choices of hosta and the OP astilbe is a good idea.

Thomaston, CT

I've been wanting Drinking Gourd hosta...maybe next year, since I've already bought 3 this year.

Not to get off subject but this one is getting looonggggg

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll start a new one.
