Garden Photo's - Part 6

Violet???

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, stunning as always. I am contemplating a couple more Japanese maples. Do you or anyone here, grow Higasa Yama or Japanese Sunrise or O Taki or Vitifolium for a small tree or Tiny Tim or Vic's Broom as a dwarf?

A raccoon distroyed one of my to be shipped Plants from Topiary Gardens and as I had a credit already for the returning customer discount, I can order 2 more or pay more for more. Endless choices. I should never have gotten that new 4th ed. of Japanese Maples or look at pictures of Victor or Wha's garden. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Patti. Sorry, I don't have any of those.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

No, does that mean they are not Victor worthy? I need a 12 to 20 foot tree, but not a red leaf dissectum, that can take a fair amount of sun that has good fall color. Ideas? Patti

Have to be a JM?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cornus kousa would fit that. So would some of the shirasawnum JM's. Acer griseum too.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

No new blooms but plants are comming on .I just love this scene in early morning.

I should have taken the resurrected plant picture with my real camera ... and different angle.. there is a small "stump" in the pot.. and it's growing off the side .... that's why I thought it was a geranium ... but now the leaves are not that.. and I looked though my photos and can not find that container in any... soon find out I guess

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thats why I love gardening. At some point I have no controle.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I keep trying to think of anything taller I grew... 4'oclocks, zinnia, dahlia... or a weed

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ok well I found a photo of the container... now what the heck is it???

I have 2 guesses
Angelonia or nemesia. Good luck to both of us.
Are they returning from selfsow's?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

what ever it is... it's returning... actually growing out of the dried cut back stem

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

crud... I posted the wrong photo... (coffee didn't kick in yet)... LOL

Whatever it is, it is beautiful Alison.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I see the tag for the petunias... might be one of the seeds Michele picked out... it doesn't look familiar to me at all.. LOL.. and if it is in fact a plant and not a weed... it didn't bloom last year

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Are you talking about the double petunias? that you cant ID?
I am surprised. The heart leafed plant looks like Sweetpotato vine.

oops we crossposted

it's the tall skinny one towards the right

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

The shape of the leaves almost look like my Hibiscus leaves Allison.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I keep thinking it must have been something I WS'ed.. there is no tag there.. that container just had whatever leftover plants I had after planting everything else.. but don't see anything on my list in my journal that matches it... I posted it in the ID forum .. still keep thinking it a weed now

Sorry no ID help here. Victor your shots are very nice as usual, nice color.
JoAnn I agree your gardens are growing beautifully. I swear things are shooting up six inches overnight in some cases.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

We finally have rain, just light stuff but need every inch we can get. That shouls shoot things along.
Thanks for the encouragment. Its the third year here so leaping is expected.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Everything is way ahead of normal here, even the lilacs are about to pop. Most years they are in full bloom around Memorial Day.
JoAnn all your your hard work will really start to pay off this season then won't it, enjoy. Glad you are getting some needed rain for the garden too.

Your garden must smell great with the lilacs.
The needed rain isnt amounting to much. I am weeding in the sprinkles and the ground is dry .We need steady showers for 2 days to really satuerate. Hope it comes.
