Laura, What wonderful pictures! Are we to bring desserts with us? I must apologize for my hat, My sister thought it would look better, instead of corks, to use those free aol discs we get through the mail. How does it look, all these discs swinging back and forth all around the brim?
Doris

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

yeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
great to see you all down under!
A snag tig and Coco is a sausage! yummy on the BBQ. Its true that a snag can also be a root that can lie under the water and snag or catch you..... but in this case it is edible....wow thanks for the hyperlink! I couldnt figure that one out! XX

I am sorry that you all didnt have your name on a banner but at the time I looked up those that were at the tea party at the time cos i dont know everyone but you are SO WELCOME!
You all look great!

I realized later that I had my dorky ( dumb looking) glasses on.. how embarassing.... hahaha but if you take a pic thats bad, you can only look better from there right?

OMG! how could I have forgotten desserts!
can you make some? we could do it here if you like.... we could go to the market??
DJM I love your hat... "way to recycle"!
Sand! You have been practicing! well done...
Roadrunner.... I love your sheep skin.... now the secret of the boomerang is to throw up into the air with quite a slant... like your slicing the sky.... and then duck! they do come back! and you look great and that aussie lingo! very impressive strewth! (gee wiz)..
welcome mystic.... dig in.. the bbq is ready.....
put a sang in some bread with dead horse... and some onions...mmmmm
hi snowhermit! welcome to 'Oz"... take a seat under the gum tree and I will bring you a snag and a coldie!

Wilmington, DE(Zone 7a)

G'DAY!!! ay, tis a wonderful day (oops, irish!)...anyway, THANK YOU LAURA!

now, Flo P, what's the entertainment agenda? i really want roadrunner to recite that poem (could we all be a greek chorus and yell PURPLE when it comes about??). i've been stretching and focusing - where's that croc??

pass the fosters, please.....

St. Thomas, ON(Zone 5b)

Gidday sand you certainly do have a lot of corks on your hat ( to myself, she must have had fun collecting that many)ha ha ha wine bottle corks aren't they??? Doris that's a good idea for those disc's I've seen people hang them on the bow of their boat's to keep the birds off, but never on a hat, if you stand real still you could look through the hole's and be very mysterious.lol Jo I love your hat but what about the flies, when we go out to the country. I got it, Sand has so many she'd probably give you some of her's. Isis yes we have to get roadrunner to receit her poem when shell we start the chant PURPLE....PURPLE....PURPLE!!!!!!!
isis I hope Laura finds you a croc to wrestle, I'd be pretty much afraid if I was you have you seen their teeth??????? Weren't the pictures bonza that Laura organized for us? She sure is a bewdy host and her family too. Well I think I'm going to wonder around and see what it's like down here.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh laura, after 40 something years of speaking redneck southern, it's too hard to learn something new, but your friends are really nice, they aren't even laughing. I'll take one of everything on the barby though:) I love good food. But then I better take a big tour of your garden, and see the sites while I'm here. This is one of my two places on earth I've been wanting to see!!! thank you for the invite:)

Crossville, TN

Laura, I hope it's ok. I invited two of my nicest cousins....and I have MANY cousins, to come along with us "downunder". LizH and Ginlyn should be along soon. They are both bewdy gals...even if they do think I'm the one who usually leads them into mischief. I'm going over "yonder" (southern term)and get a little boomerang practice in so when they get here I can impress them with my new found skills. I'll try not to chop the tops off your plants. What is the temperature here today anyhow?

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

G'Day ya'll....Glad I could drop down(under)hehe. I've got 2 big trays of brownies...Laura point me to the store for ice cream...I was afraid it might melt. Hopefully there will be a picture of me saying goodby to Rhodie before heading out the door. She's pouting 'cause she has to stay home...she's been having too much fun lately and besides if all this wonderful food was within her reach it would be gone in a blink!! http://davesgarden.com/showforumphoto.php?imageid=5347 Boy am I hungry!!! Durn..forgot my hat..anyone got a spare?? no need for corks or CDs as I'm used to flys and skeeters at home.

Auburn, NY(Zone 5b)

Laura, we're having a great time. and as Flo-P says, I have plenty of corks if you want some Jo. I wish I had thought of the discs djm, I would have saved myself from a big headache(I didn't say hangover FloP)actually I have one rule "never drink alone" and I see there are lots of people here!!!yeah :)

Crossville, TN

Sand, come on over here and plunk down on my sheep skin...then we won't be alone and we can liberate enough corks for my hat. no second hand corks for us, eh? I'm a bit how's your father about Ginger. Did you blokes see that thing she refered to as RHODIE? I think she meant RODE HE (only it's a she?...fair suck of the day! ..OK... RODE SHE.Looks to be a bewdy animal. Mystic, I do hope you didn't get the last piece of coco's cheese cake. When does iris wrestle the croc anyway. May I have her dessert if she's not as good at it, as we hope she is? Jo

St. Thomas, ON(Zone 5b)

Yeah, well, sand you never invited me, to "help" yah with the "wine". Maybe, you wouldn't have had, such a "headach". he he he "(hang over)"shh don't tell!!!! So would you mind if I joined you, Jo and Sand? The sheep skin looks so soft. Oh Jo it's isis that's wrestling the croc, Iris went away for the weekend, and might not have seen the note to come here yet. That's quit a dog you have there Ginger what breed is she? Isis did you ask Jo about doing her "PURPLE" thing? Flo P

Crossville, TN

Krykie, isis, so sorry, ya see, mate,I lost the sigt in me left eye a couple of years ago, and sometimes have trouble with things on my left....like other peoples shopping carts, anything sneaking up on me on that side...so, what say ya'll keep to my right here. Strewth, I can see that we need to share with Flo P though. Plop yourself down and help us out a bit. Jo

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

sensarional gang....

you lot are real bonza!
Now a small correction in the lingo if I may...
The term is " fair suck of the sav" meaning come off it or give me a go...

fair suck of the day....hmmmmm well over here a suck is someone...ummmm how can I put it into your terms...a nerd.... its a freindly teasing term and not a nasty one though.... a sav is another word for sausage! when I think about it... it all seems a little strange to even me! hahah

When I first met my husband we had problems with the lingo as he is from cananda... not too major but a couple of words that are used over there are really rude ones over here! its funny when I look back now....

anyways.... we are quite a multicultural lot arnt we? so later when its dark and the crickets are singing.. the stars are out.. we will light the fire and have a sing a long... a song from each country I think dont you all?

for now.. here is the fosters nice and chilly and some good australian wine....a pav is in the oven (pavlova) and a summer fruit salad is on the way.. hubbby is madly chopping it all up fr us.
GingerH the corner store is literally just around the corner so if yu could get the icecream for the fruit salad that would be great!

There will be some pics of my garden uploaded soon and maybe tig could put another hyperlink on for me when I get it done.... there is a croc on its way! so lets hope it wasnt all talk! hahahahahahaa

stand back though...they can swallow you in one gulp!

its a hot balmy day today folks about 36celcius... make sure you have your sunscreeen and also the aroguard.... if not there is some over on the table.. help yourself!

laura

Crossville, TN

This is a really a yummo party. I brought my bathers in case you have a billabong within cooee. I know I am a blow-in, and can be something of a boofhead, but I do try to show a little cack. I'm sitting here on my bum, giving the Aussie salute, enjoying my sanger and tim tam. Not knowing what the weather would be like I brought along my sunnies and stormstick. This is great tucker...my tucker chute is going to make me a salad dodger real quick. I'm afraid that Sand and I will need a little vegemite after all these plonk corks we've liberated. Being a fair dinkum person, I admit that I do have a tendency to ear bash, and I do love to yabber. Now, maybe Laura will translate for me!! LOL Jo

St. Thomas, ON(Zone 5b)

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH that's pretty warm 36celcius is around 95 degree's "Farenheit" Wow, Laura we're just starting into our cool weather here, all though today we had 20 celcuis about 80 degrees "Farenheit" but droping by the weekend.
MMMMMMMMMMpavlova, such a good dish never made it myself, but I've had it. DH and I love the Lindemans Australian white wine has a lovely taste. Where's Sand gone, she'll have to try this one. Hey Jo I'll stay on your right side so you can keep an eye on me. Thanks for sharing your skin. Where about's in Canada did you DH hail from Laura?

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Crossville, TN

Hey, sand. My bums getting tired from sitting here. I'm going to wander ( or is that wobble?) around this lovely garden. Laura and her DH has done a fantastic job here. Besides, I've lost me blommin boomerang! I think it may be behind that lovely wishing well. Laura does have a fine family, doesn't she? I wonder how she got them all to participate in her "photo session"? I would have had to issue a DECREE...."you be here of ELSE"! Does anyone else feel like they are "upside down" being on the bottom of the world like this? Maybe it's not the wine at all! Jo

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Hey Laura great BBQ. I love the food and the company is wonderful. Best kind of food there is, it can't add an ounce to you. Give me another helping.

laura

St. Thomas, ON(Zone 5b)

Hey, has anybody been to the "lou" yet? When you flush the water goes in the opposite direction then at home. Oh thanks Sand I was only teasing you, but I will sit and join you. Oh he's a westerner, I've only been to Calgary once a long time ago, and was only in the airport, we were on our way to Banff Springs, up in the mountains. What a beautiful place. It's probably like you down here, you always intend on these trips, within your own country and just don't seem to do it. Well i'm going wandering back in a while. Flo P

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)
