PGT, you have beautiful flowers! i wasn't a big fan of the poppies until I saw the white oriental poppies...then I fell in love with them. LoL I WS them this year. They are still tiny so I'm sure I will not have blooms this year. I hope mine are as pretty as yours! How long is the blooming period?

Here's one of my favorites...pink double knockout rose.

I think 'diamond' asked what info was in the "The Well Tended Perennial Garden" book and I found this excerpt on Google Books that may be of interest:

Tabasco, I did get my book from Amazon. I went through it front to back. LoL I found some very useful information how to care for my perennials. It is a very good book!

Well, I'm glad you found it useful. (-:

The author makes some observations that are simple yet very clever that I wouldn't have figured out on my own...(like how to cut back just part of a plant to lengthen the bloom time). duh!

(Anita) Fort Wayne, IN(Zone 6a)

Yes, and cutting back to stagger the plants to different heights. I love the info being provided. It explains cutting back, deadheading, pruning, disease, pests and treatment. I need the bloom times and growing habits. LoL she provides excellent pictures for examples of how fast plants when the soil is prepared properly.

Hi, pgt! Great thread!

I've finally took a few pics add to the thread~~

here are my pink digitalis, biennials that I can't do without. They wintersow beautifully and even reseed by themselvesl

In front of some (japanese or siberian) iris from Ensata gardens.

More digitalis. I have some WS hardy geraniums in that bed with them that aren't blooming in the pic.

A few things I still have to plant~~including my tomatoes.

It's getting late....

And mesclun ready to be picked for dinner.

A sweet little bellflower. I wish I had more.

The white stuff is maritime allysum which is fairly rare seed and seldom seen, but it makes a nice filler for bearded iris. Here it is hiding a pot of Lady in Red salvia (purchased).

And this is a poor pic, but I wanted to show this texas salvia that I wintersowed last year and it came back in zone 6a. Again it's a rare seed (can't think of the exact name) and I'm so surprised I could get it to grow. It's really prettier than the pic.

I wanted it for the hummingbirds.

And just for fun a few Zinnias that I WSed late in spring last year. It's the 'Hot Crayon Colors' mix from Renee's Seeds and I just sowed this seed mix again this week for this summer. I grow them for the butterflies.

And another pretty annual filler for the garden.

And I can't quite remember what it is called and I wish I did! Can anyone ID?

And that's all I have in bloom right now from WSing! More blooms to come~~hollyhocks, malva, hardy geraniums, liatris, milkweeds, ironweed, hardy ageratum, verbena bonarienses, cosmos, and so on...

Anybody else have some pics to share? Would love to see them! t

Cincinnati (Anderson, OH(Zone 6a)

Ah, yes, it is Orlaya. Thank you.

I got the seeds from Value seed a couple of years ago. I love it as a filler in our May garden.
