Well said.
Money Matters - Part 2
I was promised nirvana if I would only snort something. I chose not to.
Should have told me that before I got married!
The market is hemorrhaging at the open. Number of factors - Europe, Korea and the 'surprise' increase in new unemployment claims - highest in months.
Oil is below $70 a barrel but you know gasoline prices never come down as fast as they rise.
Judge ordered for Lindsay Lohans arrest again. I wonder how many minutes/seconds she will stay in jail this time.

Sold 3/4 of my Apple stock the other day at $250. It's now almost $20 lower.
DW was very busy yesterday, said worried investors kept the phones ringing off the hook.
Won't be any better today.
Good article on the roots of the European crisis.

I dont live in the Gulf but this disaster is starting to really eat at me. One way or the other those idiots have to get it capped! 35 days and its still spewing. This will take a toll on the economy and the enviroment harshly. The rate its going it going to come right up the east cost. Good grief if they have to take a nuclear bomb and seal it! arghh my bloods boiling.
Yes, it's beyond nuts. Amazing how it's being played down in the media. Five weeks into this and it's still going full blast. When all is said and done, it will be way more oil than what they have said. And 'Make no mistake, BP will pay for everything...', is not an effective government at work. That's essentially all they have done. It's criminal.
There is no real fix.
I heard the dispersal agent they use makes some of it sink back down again, - it's all on the bottom... spreading. No one will say how much is coming out every day, but now they're admitting its significantly more than what was previously said.
Yes - they're admitting what many experts said from the start.
Market set to plummet. Usual suspects - Europe, oil in the gulf and Korea.
More disastrous news - from a USA Today article:
"Paychecks from private business shrank to their smallest share of personal income in U.S. history during the first quarter of this year, a USA TODAY analysis of government data finds.
At the same time, government-provided benefits — from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs — rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010."
We are Greece.
Going to be interesting to see how that plays out.
- I wish Korea would stop playing these games, push button wars can be so nasty...

Some of us need those nasty "government provided benefits" right now Victor--and it has nothing to do with Greece or Korea...Geeze!
So you see this as good news???! It was not a criticism of any individual's case or needs.
No recession at the farm where I buy my veggie starts. Lots of people and more stock than in previous years.
With prices goingup, I think people are trying to grow more of their own veggies. In some cases it's probably safer.
Maybe those that have the time & can pay the extra water bills, others have to go to work, take care of the kids, cook, clean, etc etc. Many don't have the luxury...
I still say the best thing I have done in 7 years of veggie gardening is Beets. You got the greens and then you can, can them.
I did carrots last year and will never do them again. In order to can them you need a pressure cooker - dont have one. Tried to do them in a hot water bath (extra boiling time) and none of them sealed. So - they are cheaper and easier to go buy.
Then again - bought a freezer 2 years ago and it still sits in the box out in the garage!
I like beets, but did not do them this year.
Dubious distinction. 13 trillion dollar debt.

looks like it keeps growing, not good!
I took advantage of the temporary optimism today and went more into cash in my funds. Also sold my Citicorp stock. Made a bit over 15% in about six months.
☺
Report today that the Federal deficit is increasing by 5 billion a day!! Much higher than ever before. Ugh.
Ford is discontinuing the Mercury line, after decades. Some were very nice.
I liked the cougar back in the 70's, (liked the taillights, lol)
They'll be charging for data signals 'a la carte' soon.

I saw that. It will probably save me $$!
I wish the cable companies would follow suit. The reason I don't have cable you can't pick your own stations....I don't need 20 spanish channels...
Por que no??
