Good luck, Harper!
Money Matters - Part 2
Thanks!
Good luck Harper, hopefully they will see what an asset you would be to their company.^_^
I was supposed to hear by today and haven't heard a peep. My heart is so heavy. : (
Can't put all your eggs in one basket, there's a lot of jobless people out there, especially now with this economy, -don't give up!
Chin up, Harp!
Okay, trying to keep chin up. Feels like there is only one basket....
you will be ok harper
Yeah, you're right. : )
Last year I held my breath and bought stock in Citigroup. Glad I did! Doing nicely.
I went for a second interview at the same place today. The manager didn't feel she had enough time to get a feel for me. Her impression was that I wouldn't be able to handle the pressure. I went back and tried my hardest. Really, if it's so much pressure that the job is impossible, I don't want it. It's not brain surgery. I didn't say that, though. I put on my normal Harper face (cause I know I am strong) and did my best. They'll call me on Friday.
Good luck!
How do you know from one interview that someone wouldn't be able to handle the pressure??? I've done hundreds of interviews and you can't really tell from sitting with someone for such a short period of time. How long was the initial interview? I can see if they have one of those physiological applications to fill out. Were you unusually nervous during the interview???
Sounds like the manager had her mind made up before you got there, in which case you started with a cold deck from the beginning. Every interview is opportunity to sharpen your skills regardless, the more you go on the better...
Or did you jump when the phone rang?!!
Nope, wasn't unusually nervous. I was pretty casual, actually. I have no idea how she assessed me, but I hope she viewed me better this time around.
Yes, WC! Just sharpening my skills.
Very happy about Apple's blowout earnings!
good luck harper - curious if you asked why she felt the way she did?
She must have been impressed enough for a second interview. That encourages me. Sleep well, knowing you did your best.
I agree completely. You don't get called back for a second interview unless they were impressed.
No, I didn't ask, Bill. Thanks Jan and Victor. I'm sleeping well! : )
I'm seeing $3.00+ for regular gas in my area now.
Already ordered my pellets for next year.
Yup, gas is creeping up there. Yesterday I paid $3.15.
I didn't get the job that I interviewed at, by the way.
Dang. Sorry to hear that, Harp.
Not to worry - another will come up soon!
Keep trying, they'll be other interviews, ...ones better suited for you.
i have an interview on wednesday - it is with my new doctors landscaper - has to check me out to build a stone wall for the doc.
Haven't had to fill up in awhile, didn't even notice the prices.
Nuts, Harper. Something will come along soon.
Great, Bill
Double nuts, Harper.
Hopefully, the interview is at your house, Bill.
$2.62 lowest price around here.
We're holding @ $2.999/ gal here, I figure $3.25 for Memorial day wknd.
Hubby said he's seen $2.63
Gas came down this am to $2.73 from $2.79. We'll see how long that lasts, summer is coming.
I'd take that. Even $2.79!
Hundreds of people camped out for days - in the rain - in Queens for a chance to get an application for a job in the elevator service industry. One estimate put the total at about 1000, though only 750 applications were given out. They will hire about 75.
Cheap gas is about $3.13 here but we're used to it.
Are there that many elevators in Queens?
Fear of Greece is back in the spotlight again. This story does not go away. As I said a while back, look for the problem to spread.
Interesting side note to the Goldman hearings and the push for the current 'reform' bill in the senate. A number of the senators pushing for it and lambasting Wall St attended a fundraiser with Wall St people yesterday. They are shameless.
