Awful Bird Pics. Vol. 13

Irvine, KY(Zone 6a)

This red-winged blackbird had really nice wing patches. Wish I had gotten a better shot of him!

Thats still a pretty good pic sun!

Love all the 'action shots' of our lovely feathered friends. LOL, Burd, looks like as if that "firecracker" (the red dot thing) is aiming right straight at you.

I love, love the birds singing in the morning. The Phoebes are among my all time favorite. I promise she/he is hiding in here somewhere lol.

LOL Lily. I know she is there but right now I can't find her. :-)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Okay, let's me try again. lol I took half a dozen pics. one would think at least one would be pretty clear--NOT.

That's a great eye twister Lily! :-)

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Well, to compensate for the distance view. At least this one is out in the open.

Wait, wait! Is that swallow? Wooohooo, and it's a purdy one!

Eastern Kingbird there

Resin

Marlton, NJ

Is that a new one for you Lily?

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

Pelle, no. I saw the Eastern Kingbird last year. I raised the question because although it resembles my Phoebes, but it was bigger and the tail didn't bob up and down as my sweet Phoebes did. lol. It was Resin then who told me it was the Eastern Kingbird. This is the first time, however, I get to see it from below a tall tree. (seeing the underside of the bird).

Caught this Robin in mid-hop!

Nanny: That hopping Robin is too cute!

This is an awful one of a Red-bellied WP and a Dove

Good ones nany & plantladylin!!

Irvine, KY(Zone 6a)

Look for a white band at the end of the tail feathers; Eastern kingbirds have them, phoebes don't. The birds do look similar, We see both, but the kingbirds are usually down at the creek and the phoebes are nesting around our buildings.

Wishful thinking. "There maybe a bird or two here".

By jord! There my phoebe is! lol, I must have heard it singing when I snapped the shot. Thanks sunfarm for the tips on Kingbird.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Bad shot of what I believe is a Brown Thrasher, in there somewhere.

Good aim; it's right smack in the middle. lol.

(Zone 1)

I see him! I see him! ^_^

Irvine, KY(Zone 6a)

Maybe it would be a good shot on the conifers forum!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

These pair of Brown Thrashers were so cute, hunting for nesting material. I spotted one of them picked/chosen a straw. Must the pic. be so blurry? Drats!

Thanks sunfarm, I hadn't thought about that. He was back today, just singing his heart out and sounded so much like his relative Mockingbird I had to stop and do a double take. Can't wait to get another pic...probably just as bad though.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Lily_Love, congrats on your pair! Isn't true love so often near-sighted.....LOL

Irvine, KY(Zone 6a)

O.K. If this has turned into the Bad Brown Thrasher Pictures thread--here's mine, appropriately blurred!

Good one sun!

Central, AL(Zone 7b)

You've said it sunfarm. lol. Those Brown Thrashers are fun. I'm not running out of pictures especially for this thread. But I'll be away from the pc 'til this evening. I'll post more then. Have a wonderful birding weekend everyone. I just saw my very first hummer. If I were quick enough with the camera, I'd have another addition to this thread. LOL.

(Zone 1)

It seems like a lot of my awful pic's are turning into what I call my "Angel Birds", LOL. I took this one yesterday afternoon ... notice the bright glare of light shining through a hole in the shrubbery.

There's an old pipe sticking up in our backyard that I fill with water and the birds love to drink from it. This morning a Woodpecker and a Cardinal both landed on the pipe at the same time.

I missed the WP taking off, but here's the Cardinal leaving

I seem to get my share of Blurry Blue Jay's too ...

And how about this Blurry Dancing Jay?

... I really do think he was dancing! :)

I really think I could win a contest for the number of out of focus, blurry pictures taken in a day!

... since many of y'all are showing your Brown Thrasher's, here's one of mine!

Logan Lake, BC(Zone 3a)

Good awful pics everyone. The dancing jay is great!

Irvine, KY(Zone 6a)

Plantladylin, here's my bad drinking picture. We have a couple of old oak barrels for catching rainwater and overflow for the dogs to drink from. I had never seen a bird there until yesterday I caught this titmouse. The picture is especially bad since you can see the heating element cable still in the barrel for the winter at the right edge of the picture. I swear it was not in the viewfinder!

Sunfarm, I especially like that drinking Titmouse. Yep yep, I've more pictures qualified for this thread than anywhere elses. lol. Here is one, it would be so so satisfying if I can zoom in further to see this awsome bird. The American Eagle!

That Brown Thrasher was back today......throwing his head back while he sang.
