Good ones Lin and Duc!
Awful Bird Pics. Vol. 13
...and look at the proud female looking on. lol
Ohh, forgot to mention. The above pic. was a Great Blue Heron.
LOL, good awful pics nanny and Lily!
What a coy female Finch & that hummer shot is too cool.
OMG...how is that for timing!! LOL
ROFL, Duc. Is that what they called "It scored a direct hit" ???? timing is....couldn't get any better than that. LOL,LOL
Hahahaha...pretty funny pics everyone, especially the oops.LOL
There's fresh Oranges halves, peanuts and dried cherries in the feeders. I can't wait to take pics....bet 90% of them will end up here, although I doubt I'll ever catch a Hummer doing it's business. That one takes the cake.
Got my vote too. lol
Lily and Nanny, looks like you missed some great shots.
Think this one qualifies for this thread-my camera clicked at the "oops, excuse me" second.
That's an awful nice catch! lol
This Chipping Sparrow must have tasted some oops.
I have a question please. Not all sparrows made equal? These other than House Sparrows they aren't harmful to other songbirds in the garden, am I right? (I think I've more White Throated Sparrows than others).
They( WhThSp) will not harm anyone. They are sweet.
House Sparrows are not a native bird and can become very aggressive against our native birds trapping and killing them in nest boxes or cavities. Ashame.
Thanks Pelle. I've yet seen a House Sparrow around the yard. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I know. Just as my chickadee's seem to be definitely choosing one of the nest boxes I'm starting to see House Sparrows again. :-(
Burd, lol, maybe your little guy was under an "oops" bird and got hit in the head.lol
Lily, lol!
Pelle, after taking our bird houses down for a couple days, the House Sparrows disappeared so I put the houses back up. Haven't seen the sparrows yet and the swallows are so happy.
Pelle don't you have a hole reducer on your chickadee house? One my house sparrows figured out last year that they couldn't get into the house, none have tried again.
I do on the one but the other one is a Slot Box. They've been going into both but mainly the slot box.
ahh
Let me know how that works out for you. I'm getting Mom some new bluebird boxes and was thinking of slot boxes. Cleaned hers out yesterday and kicked out a mouse! yikes.
It's with lot of luck to catch the Cardinals standing still this time of year Pelle, that sure is a good bad shot. lol. Here, is it bad enough? You'll be the judges. There are a pair of chickadees guarding their "house" (the hot chillies) in this pic. They're NOT going to like it when the Photographer decided to tend the garden this year.
LOL Margaret!
I really love this thread. For awhile I would get a bit down because so many of my pictures came out a blur. I was really disappointed whenever I took a picture of something I really wanted to keep and upon download find out it was a big out of focus blur, sometimes not even being able to tell what it was, LOL. My husband keeps telling me to gently touch the button to get the object in focus before clicking but I forget. It doesn't bother me much anymore, I figure I will just keep trying. And it's nice to see that some of you who post really awesome photo's get some out of focus or blurry ones at times too. Even if 30 our of my 40 pictures are not worthy of saving, I will continue to shoot. I figure I might get a couple of worthy ones.
I was trying to take a picture of the Jays again today as they went in for their peanuts. Look at this guy ... he really was quick!
You have the right idea Plantladylin, if at first you don't succeed try try again!
Good aweful bird pic!
LOL, thanks mcash70! I'm too old (and mostly lazy) to learn about proper photography and all the settings on my camera so I just leave it set on auto, and shoot. I'm not a real patient person when it comes to some things but I always have patience when bird watching. If I don't get a decent picture I can always try again. And, I can always upload the awful ones to this thread. I just must remember not to delete them all, but save a few of the awful ones to share! ^_^
This is definitely the place to tune into when we need a good laugh. I'm with you, plantladylin, about photography skills.
Nice camo shot, Lily_Love. At first I thought your bird was just another rock!
LOL Margaret! Your Junco made my day :)
LOL... Burd!!
LOL, Good one Burd!
Looks like a Goldfish Cracker....LOL!
