pensacolagarden,I am happy to hear that you had a good time. African violets are my mom's favorite flowers. The noid is very beautiful.

The blue flowers in the opening picture are Brunfelsia Magnifica, the blooms are huge, a good 3"across.
This Brunfelsia(yesterday-today and tomorrow) has smaller flowers, but is just as nice. Everyone should try both types!!

LiliMerci, sorry about your peach tree, maybe your mom will share her fruit with you. Fresh peaches are so good!!!

Texasbigleaves, I am just worn out from all the bad weather. I am so ready for spring. Enough already!!

This is a Alocasia White Knight, it is almost 4yrs old, it doesn't get any bigger and refuses to die.

I wish i had more EE's that would refuse to die ! Jerry

I just have NO luck with Brunfelsia..... :-((
I have them in sun, in shade, and none of them seem to be happy, and more importantly they are not blooming. And I just adore them.

Cape Coral, FL(Zone 10a)

Great photos everyone.

It's pouring rain outside.

Rita,

Send it to me... it will be dead in days. Ordered some from the Agristarts coop last year. Some are still alive but struggling. REALLY struggling.

Hap

Raining here too. Figures, I watered this morning...

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

Texas, those roses are just beautiful!

It's been raining here all day, but we did get 2 beautiful days Friday and Saturday, temp in the hi 60s. Hopefully the sun will be back this week, may be Tuesday... but weather is cool tomorrow.

It must be raining all over- pouring here, too!

Red Oak, TX

Dutchlady, I do have my Brunelsia in the shaded part of the garden. The most beautiful plant I have ever seen was on Rj's back porch. Maybe he can share a few tips to get them to bloom for you.
I forgot to mention that their fragrance is heavenly.

Sunshinesw, you are fixing to have quite a display from those lovely amaryllis. Right now, I am just showing lots of foliage.

Happy_1, You are lucky to still have plants from Agri-starts alive. I planted mine in a spot where they got a lot of condensation from the runoff from the hoop house. I am afraid that they are no longer in the land of the living.
I posted the Alocasia white knight by mistake, and that was my lame attempt at a joke, I would be very sad if it died.

I wanted to show my Philo. Milkshake that I bought last fall, it has doubled in size.

LiliMerci, is that a rose? What a beautiful color. We had a sunny warm day today, the yard was flooded, so I went to a few nuserys where I found this cactus plant.

lakesidescallas, we need a updated picture of your Musella lasiocarpa bloom.

Rita, I'm sorry that your Agri-starts died. Mine did too and I thought it was something I did or didn't do. If you have something die, well.......you're just the best and that doesn't happen.

Red Oak, TX

LouC, sorry if I gave the wong impression but I kill four out of five plants, but keep on trying.

Prita, what zone are you in? Are your brunsfelias in the ground? I have one, but was afraid to plant it in my zone 8a yard. Ikept mine in the garage (dormant) and now it's putting out new leaves. I placed the pot outdoors and it's taking off. I've run out of space to overwinter plants indoors and may have to plant it outdoors. Will it survive in my zone?

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

prita, that trailing plant is very cool.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

oh my gosh rita, u r killing me! * not really, just kinda envious, but that is okay too*
hmm what can I show.. okay how about my lantana that is happy, and somehow setting seed down here? ( in the basement)

Joeswife, good job blooming in the basement!

Deebie, I am in zone 8a. The Brugs that are blooming now are planted in the ground in a covered hoop house.

I have left a few noid brugs out for the winter covered by leaves, mulch etc. that have come back and bloomed two or tree times for the season. After such a severe winter, only time will tell if they will be back this spring.
I have also overwintered them barerooted with my plumerias and bananas, without any problem. I get blooms a lot faster than the ones left in the ground.

LiliMerci, thanks, I am waiting for our next bout of bad weather, hail ad wind 60-70 mph.

Joeswife, I would like to compliment you on your great photography. Those are clear shots. I can't wait to show you a basket of MG from seeds that you sent me.

New Plant 'Alocasia Bambino arrow'

Red Oak, TX

Hi Sunshinesw, thanks, I am looking forward to seeing blooms from your huge Hoya collection.

This is Scilla Peruviana (Caribbean Liliy) I am so impressed with this plant that I will buy a few more. They also come in white (Alba) which is not as pretty as the blue.

Thumbnail by prita
(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Rita, that 'Alocasia Bambino arrow' is beautiful.. so is that new lilly of yours, where do you get your plants? I tried to find the brian guy on ebay, but couldn't..two more blooms on jaimie lynn tonight yea!

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Rita!!! I have Scilla, too and I will also get some more. I don't know if the stems are stunted or if this is as tall as the flowers get. I still like it but would like to hear from someone that has grown this for a while.

Edited to add: here is the PF link: notice it says it self sows freely so maybe I won't have to get any more
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/59661/

Rita, there is an "alba". Would love to get my hands on that one.

Joeswife, are you talking about brian from brians botanicals? Here is his website which has ebay links and a bigger listing online....

http://www.briansbotanicals.net/

If you meant someone else, then sorry for butting in :).

Red Oak, TX

Joeswife, I found those new alocasias at one of my favorite nurserys, Calloways. They were $4.99. I was excited and put six in my basket, but I put 4 of them back, reflecting back on my luck with the A Polly.

3jsmom31, thanks for the link. You are welcome to butt in anytime.

This is a new noid Philo.

vossner,I went to buy potting soil this morning at Lowe's, they have the Caribbean Lily for $9.99. I decided to wait until the mark down. That was how I was first introduced to them.
I could not find my pictures of them from last year. I was trying to check on the size of the stems. The Alba will be in bloom any day now.
