Rose and Lily and Rose and Daylily Combo Pictures

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I was going to ask how many people take home bouquets, but with that mass planting you probably wouldn't even notice.

Very lovely, and a treat for the whole neighborhood.

Thanks!

You do more with a small space than I do with a large one! I feel the need to work on my beds. I'd love to accomplish half of what you've done. You have inspired me to try more combinations.

I wouldn't have the gardens that I have if I had lots and lots of room. Since I don't things are intensly planted and there is lots going on in my garden.

I know what you mean. I have a little room. I space things so they don't start to grow into each other, but I think your beds look so much better. You have a lot of daylilies with really nice color too. Most of mine were given to me. Some are old timers and I like them, but I am finally getting more with eyes and halos. I am also trying a few repeat bloomers. They're still little, so I'll see what happens.

I am also getting to like the eyes and halos in daylilies. I have some that are kind of washed out looking, and I'll be exchanging those for some of the newer ones. But daylilies have never been my favorites, but Ritas pictures might change that.

I sure do like the zinnias, too.

I love Zinnias. So easy and they just keep on blooming and blooming. Everyone must know I have the daylily crazies by now but I also have the rose crazies and got the iris crazies last year. Eyed daylilies are my favorites and I like them with lots of color too.

Love the 2 lily varieties to gether. I have to find a place to put lilies, and have Fancy Face.
I might have to do it

Pollyk, when I started planting, I never put in Zinnias or Marigolds because everyone had them. Now, I love them! Daylilies have a way of sneaking in.They and Oriental Lilies just call to me. When small, a daylily can go anywhere. Then they grow up and it's time to share or make a bigger bed. I opt for the bigger bed, LOL! But last year I put a lot of divisions on a free pile and shared :o)

NYRita, I adore iris, but have a borer problem. I put granules down last week.

Ge1836, I love getting ideas from others and books. To me it's the sincerest form of a compliment to want a bed "just like that one!"
