I was dining in a restaurant in a shopping mall (It's a basement unit so there's no garden nearby) when I saw this in my spaghetti. Food hygiene issue aside, I'm curious to know what is this insect. I thought it might be a caterpillar but then again, there's no garden nearby so could it be that this insect strives in different environment? I wonder how could it get into the food/kitchen/restaurant if it is a garden pest?
Here's the picture of (cooked) caterpillar. About 18-22mm long. Greenish, yellowish. Please help me to ID it. Thanks a lot :)
A grub/caterpillar in my spaghetti!
(please tell me what restaurant, so I don't go there!!)
It will take someone with much more familiarity with the Lepidoptera of your geographic area than I have to answer this one...
It might have come in on vegetables that hadn't yet been washed . . . I have found caterpillars in my vegetables a few times in the last years.
The fact that it's cooked may also make it a little harder to identify.
