last one, cant wait for more light and me getting a handle of the weight of the lens with the tripod.
Pipe Creek Wildlife Area
Great flight shots, Burd. I'm sure you'll love that lens.
I like the last goose with its tongue out, as well as the groups of ducks ' riding the waves'.
Nice ones Burd!
Iris, I love it when they stick there tongues out too. I have a photo from Cape May of them doing that and it remains one of my favorites.
Burd...these are really nice shots. Great job with the new lens!
Have been taking trips here and there and average about 45 min. a visit. The 400mm lens works fine when I have the camera set right, but my main issues have been image stabilization. The tripod is not good enough for the weight on the lens/camera. Next time I will try hand held and see how I do, but for now here are some shots that came out ok.
First are Ring-necked Duck's
Great variety of birds there, Burd. I particularly like the shot of the gull harassing the eagle and the ones of the cardinal are wonderful.
Great shots--in flight pictures are difficult. Cardinals always please & I didn't get the ID on the sparow. does the area have an education ID place. the sparrow especially could use an ID print somewhere.
The sparrow is a American Tree Sparrow....which is a great shot! Greta job on all of them!
Yup, American Tree Sparrow...thanks for the comments all, I will get over the hump on the image stabilization issue someday... but my goal is to get some of these Duck Group shots so I can hang a couple framed ones on the wall.
More great photos and what a great variety. Great job.
Couple shots of a Herring Gull
American Herring Gull Larus smithsonianus of course (recently split from Larus argentatus from Europe)
