Tried a different place today in hopes of getting some new bird's for my list. I was able to add 5 more to my list. I didn't focus to much on any one bird because I walked the entire place to get a feel for the area. Did take lots of pictures, a few with the 500mm preset lens (which is not the greatest) but is good for general Id-ing.
Start off with a shot of a Killdeer, there were about 5 of them, near the entrance to the creek.

Super place Burd! Congratulations on all the new birds you've acquired!
Very nice shots!
What a wonderful place, Burd. Spring really is close, now. The swan shots are superb. I love that last one ploughing through the water. The shots of the 5 different birds in the one frame is quite a capture. Great flight shots.
Very nice....and Congrats on all your new birds! Looks like a really great place to go. I like the shot with 5 birds too!
Wow, so many different birds to enjoy. I'm with the others, that group shot is wonderful. Congrats on your new birds. Sure was a great day for you.
Thanks for the nice comments all! I stayed about 2 hours...most of it walking..years ago Arctic Tern's would nest here and there was no access allowed. Not sure if they still nest here but will keep my eye's open during the coming month's. I could also hear Red-winged Blackbird's in different corner's of the area. Next time I go I,m taking a lawn chair so I can do a sit and see how many bird's I can list. I should be able to add a couple more to my list.
Congrats on FIVE new birds! You have some amazing birds and great shots. Love the swans! It's easy to see why they are the stuff of fairy tales. Thanks for sharing.
Took the new lens out for the first time but only had about 45 minutes before I had to go to work. There was a lot of activity again but most of the duck's fly-off as soon as they see you..boooo...anyways I doubt I will see anymore Tundra or Trumpeter Swan's as the Mute's have run them off. I watched a Mute come all the way across the water (200yards) and chase the lone Tundra Swan into flight away from the area. I was hoping that wouldn't happen but.
Anyways off to the shots I took today...today's subject was the Canada Goose.
