Hairy Woodpecker. Tried hard to get a downy along with him, but they did not cooperate.
DAILY PICS - Vol. 294
Sacar, Sweet Bluebird!
Nanny, Love the Brown Creeper!
Duc, Handsome Brewers!
Marna, Nice job on the shots, love the Eagle and American Tree Sparrow!
Mrs Ed, glad you're seeing so many eagles. It does look like that juv has lost a feather or two. The way the young ones charge at each other in flight, I'm not surprised to see that. Great photos, love that red-bellied!!
Cool that you got to see some eagles Mrs. Ed!
Boy that male Brewer's sure does look like a grackle!
So far no squirrels have run off with any suet. Chewed up a few feeders tho and I have these little thingys I put on them so they can't open the suet cages.
I had hoped to go down by the dam today but it is still feeling pretty cold. It is supposed to be up around 50 the next few days!! The snow is almost all gone now. YAY!!!!! I hadn't seen my grass in 3 weeks.
A Tufted Titmouse
pelletory - Quote, "Hack, Love the collages, Double-crested Cormorants and Coot!" Thank you
gardenpom - wonderful snap of the Ibis overhead! And Buntings in the feeder are great. And the Cowbird, your last pic, sure has a nice contrasting brown head.
VA_Wild_Rose - Quote, "Hack... love the photo of the cormorants." Thank you.
Burd_Fotos - Quote, "Hack, nice shots from Cooper Creek!!" Thank you. And many thanks for confirming the ID of my Lifer hawk on the ID forum, I'll post it here later. And that's a great snap of Mr. Cooper.
Resin - Quote, "Yep, juvs." Thanks for confirming. I had read that about the lighter colored Cormorants in one of my books.
sacarvounis - Quote, "Hack...love all of the water birds. Looks like that CG was thinking about charging you!" Lord, sacar, I hope not, have to mortgage the house. I'm hoping to see some BB this year - I wasn't birding last year at this time. I'm thinking about getting some dried mealworms and making some peanut butter suet with them in it. Thank that may attract some BB.
reddirtretiree - I like that Eurasian Ring-necked Dove. It would have been a Lifer for me.
nanny_56 - love the snap of the Brown Creeper eating suet. It, too, would have been a Lifer for me
ducbucln - it must be a California bird, because if I had seen that last pic, the male Brewers Blackbird, with the vivid yellow eyes, I surely would have thought it was a Common Grackle..
Mrs_Ed - FIVE bald eagles - I envy you. And that male Hairy WP and female Red-bellied WP are real nice shots.
mcash70 - I really like the photos Steller's Jays. Nice

Finally, get me a pic of a Hawk. Over on the ID Forum, Burd_Photos confirmed my thought that it was a Red-tailed Hawk (immature). MargaretK made sense when she said it looked to be preening it's feathers after a bird. That made sense because, it caught my attention when it flew up to the limb from an area of flooding at Cooper Creek Park. It was watching a bunch of Mallards right below it, but it never went after one.
Here's my Lifer Hawk - an immature Red-tailed Hawk. I took a ton of pix and made several collages, 3 pix to a collage.

Great hawk pics Hack!!
I'll have to learn how to do a collage, I like that!!
Margaret
Have had a pair of Eurasian Ring-necked Doves in the front yard under a feeder the past few days. Funny they have been here before, but never feed in back with all the other doves. Always under the feeders in front.
Looks like Collared Dove to me - Ring-necked Dove is a southern African species.
Resin
Resin, It is a Eurasian Collared-dove. I must have been looking at too many Ring-necked Ducks recently. Fairly common around here. Not many days I don't see a few.
Great pics everyone!!
Wonderful pics of the Canada Geese Methodical.
Methodical....beautiful shots of the CG! I esp. like the shot of one blowing bubbles!
Hack....love the hawk shots. I see red taileds from time to time but I never get any decent photos if them.
Nanny...I usually see brown creepers in pairs when I see them.....lucky you!!
It is snow/hailing with a howling wind tonight. I am worried about my feathered friends :(
Great shots Met! The second one looks like she is crying and I love the blowing bubbles one! Terrific shots!
Testing:-)
mcash70 - Quote, "Great hawk pics Hack!!" Thanks, And making collages are a lot of fun to me - sure beats posting a bunch of pics separately. Only down side is that a single pic is larger and may be more thrilling.
nanny_56 - Quote, "Congrats Hack on the Hawk!! It is a purdy one!" Thanks. That pair of Brown Creepers sure do blend in well.
pelletory - Quote, "Great pics everyone!!". Thank you.
Methodical - like pelle said, the goose in the 2nd shot does appear to be shedding tears. Cool.
sacarvounis - Quote, "Hack...love the hawk shots." Thanks. This is the first hawk of any kind I've ever had the chance to photograph - come to think of it, I haven't seen too many, either. I do have one here at the house that has been teasing me. I seen it occasionally, but never when I have my camera. But one of these days, its all going to come together.
