a different view.. I love these containers.. the lids open like a hinge.. now that I have been getting these from work, another gal saw me take some home, and she is using them too.. it will be time to give it some exposure to air when first leave starts to form..

don't really know what thread to post my garden in, so here I am.. these are my little tomatoes I had in the pink bedroom west window.. they are ready to transplant into their bigger cups..

I have a wonderful crop of petunias going here, I had posted this icecream sandwhich container earlier somewhere..
a few more leaves and they will be ready to transplant also..
all the mgs I have grown open air are doing well, but I have several in containers such as I posted here..
once they have their first leaves, I start opening up the containers for a bit each day.. this one will be filled with other plant seed plugs by this time next week, and these little guys will be in their grow cups..

Debra - Neat use of those containers! Everything looks very good! You've got lots of new babies sprouting! Spring better get here quick! The ice cream sandwich container made me laugh! You are great at recycling everything! :-) Great idea! I like your straw containers too!

Your tomato plant looks really perky, too! :-)

Have you started any of the seeds you received from the MG Seed Swap?

Hi Becky, I have been so busy testing my own seeds to make sure they germinate that I haven't gotten to the swap seeds yet. How ever I am off work for a whole day tommorrow .. Whoo hoo! Then off to see Elton John and Billy Joel in concert tommorrow night, then my dealership has me working a few days at the Wichita Garden Show this weekend.... I plan on starting one seed from each person tommorrow, just deciding which one to start will be my problem.. I will most likely plant some I have never grown before to see what they do..
This tray in the basement closet is full of kansas native plant seeds.. including pandurata and bindweed.

I guess I did plant some of cibarius's seeds on feb 22 nd mini bar rose..

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Did you have a productive day in your green room today, Debra? :-)

I have sowed 18 so far. Am interested to see what germinates. This weather is so cold, my germination rate may be low. They are in the south window and it gets cold here at night ... even inside the house.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I had a very productive day, and a wonderful night at the concert, then at the Garden Show all day today, my feet and legs are killing me.. I am taking my camera tommorrow so I can take pictures of the Garden entrys from all the local landscape nurserys here.. hard to believe all the stuff they have set up inside the building.. I planted about 6 morning glories and about 8 of some other things yesterday. none of my windows are insulated and have not been updated since we moved in almost 25 years ago here.. behind the blinds, it is cold at night. Things are still popping out everywhere. I have some about to blooms I am watching downstairs.

Hey Debra.....I got your seeds safe and sound. I just haven't had time or brainpower to post much lately going back and forth the hospital.

and in TN they say it's bad luck to thank people for plants/seeds, so I'll say I look forward to sowing them =)

yesterday they moved my uncle to a nursing home for Hospice to administer Comfort and Care (i think they are calling it). at least we have a 15 min drive instead of 70 mile trip.

i think i should get back to gardening in honor of him, if nothing else.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I am glad you are closer to him, I know how it is to help out with loved ones during thier times of need. I will add you to m Prayer list for strength. Gardening is my saving grace from insanity of our day to day lives.
I look forward to your posts when you get some blooms. Today I planted some orange morning glory seeds.
I have vines twining everywhere...

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Phyllis - {{{Hugs & Prayers}}} So glad that your uncle is now closer to visit. So sad when they decline and need hospice. I hope you get many, many days and wonderful visits with him. Gardening for me is healing ...

Debra - Orange morning glory seeds? That caught my attention ... are the seeds orange or are the blooms supposed to be orange? LOL! My little sunspot vine is still growing in a little cup and has more blooms today! LOL! I thought that vine was finished. I think it was just getting it's second wind ... more sprouting vines coming off it's trunk, too! I guess I need to quit torturing it and plant it in a bigger pot! ;-)

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Becky, please send pics of your small orange, Sunspots.

Phyliis, so sorry about your Uncle.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Some one sent me some of their orange morning glorys, and that is all the label says. I loved those sun spots..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debra, couldn't remember if Becky sent pics of her orange already.
Share your pics when your's blooms too.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Jackie - I missed photographing the blooms today. They had already closed up by the time I remember to get my camera out. I will need a magnifying glass to get a good shot! LOL! They are teeny little blooms! Here is an older photo of it taken several weeks ago...

This what I grew last winter, it came from a pack called wild red morning glory, given to me by a DGr here in Kansas..

Thumbnail by joeswife
(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

it reminded me of a sunspot.. very tiny..

Cute little glory's. Thanx for sending pics Becky and Debra.
Yours looks just a tad different Debra. I think I grew one
like Becky's yrs ago. So tiny, it gave the appearance that the blooms never opened. Mine was no larger than a half inch across, if that big.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

That was tagged wild red morning glory.. who knows? LOL

Here is what greeted me this am...

Debra - How cool! Your babies look great! :-) What is that 2nd and 3rd one?

Your yard looks like my yard ... bare. LOL! It's like having a clean slate to start all over. It's amazing how much it all fills in and grows like crazy once Spring arrives! I can't wait to see green again. Tired of all the brown...

Your yard is looking a little green! Looks like Spring is on it's way to you, too! Yay!

Cumberland Mtns, TN(Zone 6b)

after our rains yesterday and today, its green here now! I have daylillies and irises coming up everywhere.
only now its cold again. i wouldnt be surprised if it didnt snow tonight.

yikes.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Phyl - OMG! I'd be fit to be tied! Isn't that something ... plants coming up and it snows! Ack! That is my worst fear ... my plants are starting to show signs of life again and I am concerned we might get freezing temps again. It is still quite cold here for March. Though not as cold as you are up there in TN! Brrrr ...

My hummers are smart ... they have decided to just relocate here and stay permanently! LOL!

I shot a few pictures of my downstairs garden..

here is one of the i. carneas I sowed and then grew out last winter

I really like the leaf of this one too.. these are from seeds I grew last year, so it can only be one of five I grew with varigated leaves.
